I recently made an item and tried to give it the thrown property, the concept was a shortsword that has the same range and a dagger, but when i got a range of 5ft/5ft
I was wondering how to fix it so it shows the right stats or should i just add it to the item's description?
Unfortunately we can't currently set the range on a weapon, so adding the thrown property doesn't really do anything.
However you could do this using a trident as the base weapon, since it already has the thrown property (and the correct range); you'll need to use the replace damage type modifier to switch it to slashing, ignore weapon property to drop versatile, and then add the finesse and light properties.
The character will need trident proficiency rather than shortsword proficiency, but you could always add proficiency as a modifier to the item as well.
It's a very complicated way to achieve what you're looking for, but it ought to give you the result you're looking for?

Thanks, I might try that!
