no a separate class, but one that is designed to not really have exclusive subclasses. You could, in theory, chose to take the basic abilities of all the disciplinesand none of the higher abilities and a mix of powers from all discipline lists as well as the the general list but it would be a fairly weak character. your really better off taking 2-3 disciplines and leveling them up along with taking powers mostly from those disciplines. but its designed to be fairly freeform within the class. you could also multiclass out - but really why?
