When we play we play with a rule of starting with a feat at level 1 and then not being allowed to play variant human, so we can actually get different races instead of just being variant human, i asked support some time ago if it was possible to add a level 1 feat and they said no it wasnt, but i could make an item with a feat. Which is true, except for 2 things, 1) the item with a feat while equipped doesnt show the feat in the feat list, and 2) you cant add homebrew feats to items, so apparently the mods are meant to answer this question if it is meant to happen and if there is a way around it.
The workaround with the homebrew item is to code it directly with the modifiers of the feat. This will not make the item appear as a feat, but the effects are there.
With the upcoming character sheet revamp, you will be able to select additional feats directly on the sheet.
