So I've got a table of players who are lovely people and very enthusiastic but very, um, bad at bookkeeping. I've been on a kick lately homebrewing things to help them keep track of magic items and effects and such that D&DB doesn't have functionality for, like the Strixhaven Primers (just made them all AND did each of the spell lists by hand so the players don't get confused when choosing spells since we're still playing 2014 rules), and a janky subclass for my OH monk player to compensate for the martial arts dice being wrong now (and unable to be changed by simple customization).
I want to give each of the wizards (we have 3...) the spellbook from Tasha's corresponding to their respective subclass (Duplicitous Manuscript etc), but right now the items don't include the functionality of adding those spells to their spellbooks. I was looking through feats and subclasses, and could find ways to add spells as always known/prepared and ways to add spells to a class list (but not known or prepared), but can't figure out how to hit that weird middleground that is the Wizard's spellbook. Is there any way to bundle a group of spells together to add to a Wizard's spellbook/available spells but have to be prepared normally? I'm mainly interested in some way to bundle them so that they can all be added/removed together if the wizards lose/trade the magic spellbooks (wouldn't be the first time).
Thanks!
