I really love the fantasy and flavor of the new subclass. I think conceptually it's excellent. But having now played it, trying to lean into the playstyle its features encourage, I can safely say that it feels a bit weak. It feels like every other Druid subclass outshines it. The closest comparison to a sort-of "no wildshape" melee druid is Circle of Spores, but that feels miles ahead in terms of power and utility.
I don't think the Subclass needs a massive redesign though, just some tweaks to its features (especially Level 6). So I attempted to do that with some Homebrew. I wanted a clear increase in power, but not too much. I had to rename and reword a bunch of stuff though, just to get DND Beyond to let me share it.
Let me know what you think, but please be nice. I'm not supper experienced with Homebrew creation.
