Hi guys, I'm looking to put together a monk "boxer" subclass for one of my players. I've gotten most of what I'm planning penciled out but getting it to work in beyond is proving somewhat... tricky.
One thing in particular I am looking to do is give them a jab "attack of opportunity" whenever an enemy comes into range that can push said enemy back by 5ft on a successful hit... Ok that bit is easy enough, but I want the damage itself to be minimal (1d4-2) as it's about keeping distance not doing damage, although I do want there to be a potential for a bit of a sting to it if the player is lucky.
Now I can't for the life of me work out how to make an attack that does this sort of damage! I've not used an ability score type so it's not affected that way, I've tried unchecking proficiency and martial arts but the lowest I can get is 1d4+1. Is there anything you guys can suggest?

I'd say just leave it at a flat damage number, like the characters dex or str modifier, if small damage is what your looking for.
EDIT: To scale the damage across the life of the class, just have the damage double at like 6-8 level, triple at 12-14 level, and quadruple at18-20th.
