I was curious if anyone has tried to take an existing monster from the new monster manual and "beef it up". I like green hags as a monster and even as a main antagonist, but would like to build it up a bit to make one of the members of the coven a little more powerful than the other 2 to increase the challenge of fighting these for a tier 2 party.
So far here are a few of the ideas I have had to make this "green hag matriarch"
1. Increase the PB on the green hag from +2 to +3 to match its new CR. 2. Increase the damage of the claw attack by 1d6 poison damage. 3. Increase the spell level of Ray of sickness from 3rd to 4th. 4. Increase intellect (only used for coven spells, saves and skills) from 13 to 14. 5. Add PB to initiative roll. 6. Increase Hit points by 3d8+9 (average 24) 7. Add Death Jinx from DMG 8. add Fey ancestry from DMG 9. add proficiency bonus to charisma saves.
Is this too much for a CR 3 to CR 5 creature or do you guys think this is to little?
