I'm trying to implement the Hexblade subclass from the recent "Arcane Subclasses" Unearthed Arcana as a homebrew subclass, but having trouble making the spells on the expanded list always prepared.

Is there a way to do this that I'm just missing?  I've tried making class features with various configurations and adding them as Additional Specific Spells, but in both cases the spells require preparation (and there is no way to adjust the prepared spells limit to accomodate).  But, given that all of the warlock 2024 subclasses grant always-prepared spells, it seems that there should be some way to emulate that in a homebrew.

You need to add them with a class feature, and you want to make sure that these settings are set correctly:

• Consumes Spell Slot: Yes
• Counts As Known Spell: No (this is a little counter-intuitive, but it's how the official subclasses are set up)
• Always Prepared: Yes
• Available at Character Level: whatever number is appropriate
