Trying to create a feat that casts a spell at higher levels as you gain Character Levels (for a non-magic user that doesn't have spell slots). (It's not Fireball but we're going to use it in this example. EDIT: This means the actual spell I'm using is NOT Fireball. That's just an exmaple.)
Parameters: Cast Level 3 Fireball (8d6 fire damage). At Character Level 9, the feat loses the Level 3 Fireball and gains Level 5 Fireball (10d6 fire damage). At Character Level 13, the feat loses the Level 5 Fireball and gains Level 7 Fireball (12d6 fire damage).
Is this possible? Or is my only avenue to just add the extra upscaled Fireballs without losing the previous versions? I want to make it reset at short rest but if I can't do the above and they gain 3 attacks like this at Level 13 it might need to be long rest.
You might want to reconsider giving martials the ability to cast a high-level fireball with a feat. Seems overpowered. Plus, nixing the upcasting makes the feat easier to implement (I think).

The actual spell isn't going to be Fireball. I'm just using that spell as an example to ask a specific question in the OP.
Shoot, the added spell to the Feat will be a little useless if it can't be upcast. I might have to rethink this one.
