Recently, I started making a few homebrews, but I’ve been preferring to put all of their content directly in the homebrew description (for some, like species, I’m not doing this, but I am doing it in the Traits description). Do you think there’s any problem with this, or should I put more effort into making everything fully standardized, using all the available tools?

Unless you want the homebrew to interact with D&DBeyond's character sheet, this is fine.
Okay, thank you!
