The cancelled shooter videogame "Syncred: Off Planet" has been the inspiration for this idea. It is about controlling a psionic elemental/construct creature like a symbiont or monster ally.
“Greysargilla doesn't obey orders. It responds to will.”
The Synchronizer is a psionic conduit capable of activating and directing greysargilla (grayclay), a living substance of unknown origin that combines traits of construct, elemental, and psionic entity.Through a mental link, the Synchronizer can mold it for various tactical and narrative purposes.
Central Fantasy Not a classic summoner. Not an artificer surrounded by gadgets. It is will + symbiosis. If the link is broken, the greysargilla becomes unstable, erratic, or even dangerous.
Basic Class Traits Hit Die d8 (similar to monk or bard)

It functions similarly to: monk's ki psionic points sorcerer's sorcery
Spend them to:
change the shape of the grise
boost attacks
react defensively
force rapid adaptations
Recover with: short rest(Partial) Long rest (Total)
Iconic Trait Level 1: Grismarsh Bond
You gain a dormant mass of grissmarsh that: occupies your space is not an object is not a separate creature by default While you are conscious: responds to mental commands (no action) shares initiative with you uses your mental saving throws
Manifestation Modes (Class Core)
Starting at 1–2 levels, you can assume one active form at a time, and change it by spending Synchronic Points.
1. Symbiote Mode Temporarily increases AC or HP May grant: Damage resistance Enhanced senses Physical adaptations (climbing, swimming, special vision) Visually: Fluid plates, metallic veins, multiple eyes
2. Implant Mode Enhances specific actions: Psionic attacks Remote manipulation Defensive reaction Ideal for "controller" builds
3. Armor Mode The grayscale forms a living pseudo-armor Can replace traditional armor Scales with level Not heavy, but feels oppressive
4. Allied Entity Mode Detaches as an allied creature Uses simplified stats Shares a portion of your HP or resources If it falls to 0 HP, you suffer the consequences 5. Mount Mode Beastly or mechano-organic form Increases mobility and mounted combat Ideal for exploration andtactical loads
Psionics and “Spells”
The Synchronizer does not cast traditional spells. Instead, use: Synchronization Techniques Effects equivalent to psionic spells (telekinesis, mental shields, partial disintegration, etc.) With no obvious verbal or somatic components
Example: Dissolution Pulse (like Inflict Wounds but psionic) Adaptive Reconfiguration (reactive buff) Absolute Command (limited mental control over allied grayscale)
Subclasses: Synchronization Protocols Obtained at level 3.
🟥 REV Protocol (Clearly inspired by the REV-9)
Theme: Solid exoskeleton + fluid swarm
Role: Bruiser / Aggressive tank
Traits: You can split the grayscale into:
a solid body (armor/exoskeleton)
an autonomous offensive extension
Improved melee attacks
Regeneration Limited
Ability to regenerate after being reduced to 0 HP (1 time per long rest)
Visual: Liquid metal, artificial bones, fluid mass detaching and returning.
🟦 Nexus Protocol
Theme: Remote control and multitasking
Role: Tactical Controller Maintain multiple minor manifestations simultaneously
Excellent field control
Weaken enemies synchronized with the Grisargilla
Ideal for strategic players
🟩 Chimera Protocol
Theme: Adaptive evolution
Role: Versatile / Explorer
The Grisargilla learns from enemies
Gain temporary adaptations after taking damage
Highly narrative and dynamic
🟪 Archon Protocol
Theme: Absolute psionic mastery
Role: Psionic DPS Transform the Grisargilla into a concentrated weapon of destruction
Less defensive, more devastating
High risk if you lose control
