Thanks for stopping in to hopefully help me I'm trying to make a feat for Constructs - which is basically the Auto-Gnomes healing machine when mending is cast on you.
Original is : If the mending spell is cast on you, you can spend a Hit Die, roll it, and regain a number of hit points equal to the roll plus your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point).
I want my Feat to take away the cast mending side and be able to heal other Constructs
I called it Repair (Constructs Only) As an Action, you spend an available hit point die to heal yourself or another Construct withing 5 ft of you, equal to the roll + your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 hit point).
I was able to make it come up as an action, so I could see it, but I wanted to get the '"check squares" to come up so I can tick them off when used so I can track them, and want them to change at every level as you gain an extra hit dice every level. and then be able to reset with a long rest
Looking and thinking about it as I ask for help, maybe I should make it a touch "spell" that's not a spell
I'm really not sure if this is possible, but I gave it a good crack for about an hour, watching tutorials and reading rules and somehow made the same thing maybe 20 times and still couldn't get it all to work. If someone is able to help me at all, point me in a better direction, or possibly even make it for me, I would very much appreciate any help at all.

I think I may have worked it out, I believe I just need to keep adding extra rules for each level in Limited Use... Does anyone know if its possible for the hit point die to show what you roll based on you class ? if not that's fine, maybe i'm trying to over complicate it
So the revised version that does pretty much all I want it to do other than showing range type as touch is called "Construct Repair"
Please leave any feedback, or if you know how i can change range to touch without making it a spell
This one is tough because on the one hand you want "charges" like a spell with limited use, but on the other it sounds like you are looking for something like using Sorcery or Ki points. Am I correct in thinking that?
Did you see this thread on the forum here? ImSposta is a divine being on here for homebrew stuff. This sounds like what you are trying to do.
I have the selected limit use working as I intended, (1 extra use per level = 1 extra hit point dice per level) , the only thing to do IF possible would make it bring up the correct dice roll based on your class. Other than that im happy with what i've made
I couldn't find anything about that specific concern, and I looked specifically for that. I have never done it before, but have the tendency to build something just to figure it out. If I come up with a solution, making something similar, I will report back!
