Here is a small homebrew rule that seems to woke that I though I would share.
By rules as written reading a spell uses concentration so if you have a spell like web you would need to drop concentration when if you want to ready any spell.
A small change we made was that you can ready cantrips with out concentration. If you want to ready fireball you would still need it but you can ready a firebolt with out dropping concentration on another spell you are using.
Yea Readying. Cantrips are to be simple spell that are very easy to casters to use. As is I think readying a spell punish's the caster as they lose it if trigger does not come up. On a cantrip losing it does not matter much as you can just cast next round. If you are maintaining a spell (a buff lets say) you can not ready any spells for when the enemy come out of hiding or around a corner. By letting them do it for a cantrip with out concentration they can still keep it going while ready to blast.
P.S. I though if making it a feat but I though it would be to weak for a full feat to do this. I have also seen many people forget about the spell ready rules and that is where it was made into a house rule.

You can make a simple feat that you give as a freebie to your casters just as a reminder of your homebrew rules. If you want to publish it as an actual feat or you want it to function as a viable feat your players would take at level 4 (or 8 or ...) then it would need some additional features, like refunding the spell slot if the readied spell wasn't triggered. Or whatever additional features you want to include.

I spell Goodly.
Just to be clear, you mean readying a spell, not reading a spell? As in, taking the Ready action to cast a spell in response to some trigger?
I'm curious what the motivation for the change would be.

The refunding of the slot is nice but do you think it would be worth it with even the 2 perks or would it need something else also?
