Hello! I'm in need of some recommendations (shameless self plugs are allowed) for systems for alchemy, brewing potions and crafting poisons, and all that stuff. My DM is allowing my character to get into alchemy and we're in desperate of system besides "make some checks to stuff"

In the words of the great philosopher, Unicorse, "Aaaannnnd why should I care??"
Best quote from a book ever: "If you love with your eyes, death is forever. If you love with your heart, there is no such thing as parting."- Jonah Cook, Ascendant, Songs of Chaos by Michael R. Miller. Highly recommend
It's not a "system" per se, but something that can help you get started is starting to ask your DM after you encounter certain substances/creatures whether you can extract something for alchemy. As a DM I would quickly consider the situation and allow something to be harvested and I would expect a DM who's willing to allow your character to invest into alchemy do this as well.
Example role play: Let's say you kill a manticore. "Do I know if some part of a manticore is usable for alchemy?" "Hmm..... Give me a Nature check, please...." - This pause is to give the DM a moment to think about their answer - "Ok, with that you would know that manticore blood is a suitable ingredient."
Then, after you've extracted some material, you can look through the DMG or PHB or homebrew potions and elixirs that would be suitable. And as this goes on you can talk with your DM about the potions and elixirs you might want to brew and you have time to develop your alchemy system.
