Does anybody know why I can't learn cantrips even though they're showing as known on the character sheet for my Paladin?
I am using a homebrew subclass/oath, but nothing seems to be conflicting that I can see...I've removed their background, they know no other cantrips, but I still can't activate these. I feel like there's a glaringly obvious issue that I'm missing!
The Paladin class's Spellcasting feature doesn't grant any cantrips, so I wouldn't expect you to be able to select any in that interface. I'm more surprised they appear there at all. Are they granted by your homebrew subclass, perhaps?
They are granted by the homebrew subclass but it makes sense that cantrips wouldn't be included in the spellcasting feature -- that's no problem, I now know what I'm dealing with and how to better incorporate spells for this character and homebrew subclass. I knew making my first Paladin with a homebrew subclass would be a steep learning curve... :'))
Thanks so much for all your help! :)
