I wanted to create a new fighter martial archetype based on dexterity and charisma, similar in feel to a valor bard or swashbuckler rogue. My goals are to make a class that feels like an Errol Flynn/Princess Bride Westley feel. What do you think?
Swashbuckling Fighter
3rd Level
Shielding Smile: Add charisma bonus (up to +3) to AC if using light or no armor. Cannot be used with the Defensive Fighting Style.
Challenging Words: As a bonus action on your turn, make a Charisma (Persuasion) check contested by creature's Wisdom (Insight) check. Creature must be able to hear you and you must share a language. You can only challenge one creature at a time.
If you succeed it has disadvantage on attacks against anyone but you. This effect lasts for one minute or until you are more than 60 feet away or you are no longer hostile.
7th Level
Natural Born Leader: You gain proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Deception, Intimidation, Persuasion. If you already have proficiency, you double your proficiency bonus.
In addition, you can substitute Acrobatics for Athletics to jump, climb and similar activities.
10th Level
Halting Words: as a reaction when a creature moves within 10 feet of you make a Charisma (Persuasion) check contested by the creature’s Wisdom (Insight) check. If you succeed, the creature’s speed becomes 0. You must then move to the nearest location within striking distance and make an opportunity attack against it. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
15th Level
You’re Next: When the target of your Challenging Word drops to zero or is incapacitated, use your reaction to immediately Challenge another foe. If the new target is adjacent to you, you can make a single attack.
18th Level
Mobile Attack: On your turn, you can spend an action surge move up to 30 feet, striking all opponents on the way as you acrobatically tumble between them. You do not provoke opportunity attacks while doing this

I recently played a Swashbuckler based off of this build. https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Swashbuckler_(5e_Class)
Lots of fun.
The one you added atrocious does feel more swashbuckler-ly.
AlViking, trying to think of the right way to describe it but possibly as a Duelist might be a better name. Looks interesting though.
