This is an idea I wanted to share in the homebrew section but I couldn’t find the right category, so I hope it works better here.
My idea revolves around the concept of a benevolent lich, who has instead taken an with a good-aligned or neutral god, deity or other powerful patron or creature in order to gain power and immortal life, but for just means.
An example of this in my own campaign is a powerful NPC sorceress whose job it is to guard an ancient temple/ library. In order to do so I thought of the idea of her being a Lich, except it didn’t really fit with her character. She’s really not the soul-devouring type, which is how I came up with this idea. As a normal lich is bound to their phylactery, an oath lich would be bound to their oath, meaning while she gains immortality and power, without having to devour souls, she has to use it to defend the temple. Break her oath or let the temple fall and she becomes mortal again.
Though quite specific and far-fetched, I think this could be quite a cool idea to expand on. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or criticisms, feel free to comment, I’d really appreciate any feedback.

I believe the term you are looking for is "chosen of a god." A chosen is usually granted a divine boon which could include a form of immortality.
This doesn't really cover game rules but is a good start: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Chosen
