Hi,

so I have created some wands i was testing around with. I wanted to give the ability to cast cantrips, but with your dexterity modifier. Here is my Wand of Fire Bolt:

This wand has 8 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges and cast the fire bolt cantrip. Use your Dexterity Modifier for the attack roll. If you are proficent with Wands you can also add your Proficency Bonus.

The wand regains 1d6 expended charges daily at dawn.  If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed.

 Is there a way to change the attack role to use dexterity? And I'm pretty sure there is not but is there also the posibilty to add a costum proficency?

I like the idea. like a Harry Potter Wizard using the "swish and flick" technique to cast spells.

Yeah I would probably use the above posts suggestion making the hand movement with the wand needs to be more finesse than your average point click wands lol. 

I'm a bit confused at being proficient with wands though, unless that's a thing in your game I don't know about.

Wand Proficency is a homebrew of mine, as I am playing a steampunky western setting where wands are kind of like guns (but much rarer)
