So for a campaign I have coming up my DM has allowed me to homebrew my own subclass/patron for my character. I have a pretty good idea of what I want the class features for lvls 1, 6, and 10 to be and have already got those ones okayed by my DM. I am having a bit of trouble with the last class feature however. I know what I want but not exactly the parameters.
So the core idea is that the final ability the Patron grants the Warlock is the ability to assume a lesser form of the Patron for a time. I want to homebrew a Monster that this transformation would be into but I am unsure what CR the Monster should be and how long the transformation should be. If the CR is lower should the transformation be longer, or could I get a quick transformation that gives me access to a higher CR? I kinda want the transformation to be viable for later levels, there still being six levels left before max afterwards, and so am open to hear any advice I can get.
