Hello all. I am wondering how one could make a race similar to the Yautja (Predator) flavored for an D&D setting. I would take away the technology and strip them to down so they are close to a Native American tribe in nature. My daughter thinks the Yuan-ti would make a good flavor, but I would like some other ideas. As far as classes available to them: the natural choices would be Ranger and Fighter. But this is also up for debate depending on the location and type of campaign. I haven't played a consistent campaign in ages, so this is basically for a story arc.
I would think Rogue, not Ranger or Fighter. In the movies, the Predator was ALL about hiding. Yes, they were ranged attackers, but the primary think was the near invisibility.
I could see substituting Hunter's Mark for Expeditious Retreat, that makes a lot of sense if you are willing to make them all about the combat. Weapon proficiency and the speed are strong, but not ovepowered by themselves.
But I would laugh at anyone that thought a spell of 6th level could in ANY way be acceptable as a racial ability. Even if you made them wait till 11th level to get it. Which by the way makes it practically useless as a racial ability. Way too long a wait.

+2 Dex, +1 Con
LE (Hunting, with a code)
Darkvision (obviously)
Skill: Stealth, Perception
Resistance: Acid
Yautja spells:
Cantrip: Thaumaturgy
At 3rd character: 1/day Expeditious Retreat
At 5th level 1/day Invisibility
As far as creating the race, I would add the following:
As far as classes, I would say Rogue (Assassin) makes the most sense; however, Monk, Fighter, or Ranger would be appropriate
