I'm currently trying to make a homebrew monster that has a homebrew item I've made, but the tooltip for magic items don't work for it. What should I do and how can I get this working? The tooltip I'm using is [magicitem]MAGIC ITEM NAME[/ magicitem] (Except without the space in the bracket) Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
If you want to reference other homebrew you can use links, but note that even if these are links to D&D Beyond the Homebrew tool still considers them "external" links, so you won't be able to share it with the community. If that's not your goal, and you just want the homebrew for private use in your own campaign(s) then links should be fine as an alternative (not as good as tooltips, but better than nothing).
If you do want to share with the community, you could add a comment to it afterwards with convenient links to make things easier, though comments only show up if someone views the full details page.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.

I don't believe it works for homebrew within another hombrew.
