Klarg, now running for the steps, doesn't make it past the nearest goblin as the cries of "Incontinent!" ring out in the cavern. A deft swing of its scimitar and Klarg drops to the ground, unmoving. Yeemik climbs the steps towards Klarg, face triumphant. He spits on the bugbear, before turning his bow on the remaining Goblin.
"You die now. You no follow Yeemik. You no Cragmaw Goblin," he shouts at it. His shot is wild and lands well away from where the creature is taking cover.
Sildar breathes a sigh of relief and looks at Yeemik with narrow eyes. "Perhaps you could show some real leadership and spare that one's life, Yeemik? Has there not been enough killing today." He turns towards Willow, "Can anyone help her, she needs some healing urgently." He watches Yeemik carefully. "It looks like the battle here is won, what do you intend to do with them?" He points at the other Goblins.
Graeme, who is still lying prone on the ground rolls over onto his back and stares at the ceiling of the cave. The three goblins move to surround Yeemik, keeping their bows at the ready but lowered; after all they are in a pretty precarious position. One focuses on the one that's hiding behind the crates while the others watch the rest of the party warily. They look to Yeemik for guidance.
Eventually the goblin that is hiding throws its weapons over the crates and stands up slowly. "No kill," it says in common. "Give up. Join Yeemik. Want to be Cragmaw, no more Klarg, no more King Grol."
Graeme, being quite bloodied by the days combat, speaks to Yeemik. “Yeemik. It’s noe like ye hae friends to spare, lad. For a tribe to be strong, ye got to he numbers.” (Persuasion: 18)
Moralesh let out a sigh as the last goblin surrendered. He immediately checks on Willow, finding her breathing and stable he starts looking around the cave. When he finally assimilates the information around him he says to Sylharice. “Hey those are the goods Willow and I were protecting. They are from our cart. I wonder if our things are here to?” He gets up and looks around the cave for his and Willows gear. (Perc. 6)
Sylharice replies "I was thinking there might be something that can help your friend..but I ll respect your wish." he continues " u know what until we wait for willow to recover have a small job to do" he moves to the dead body of klarg takes out a small knife and carves a portion from his flesh
Norwin turns to Sildar: "As you said. As far I'm concerned enough killing has happened today." He turns to the goblins and adds: "So I expect these goblins stay true to their word and leave. I would like to add 'empty handed'. The stuff here does not belong to them." He searches in his bag and gives his food to the goblin that killed Klarg in goblin he says:
Here, some food. I think it is best you leave now. And leave all the stuff here. We will find you otherwise.
He then turns to check on Willow, making sure she is still stable, and make sure she is resting comfortable.
"Lets gather the stuff we want to take while Willow here is sleeping it off." He will first start doing a little funeral rite for the fallen goblins and then start to gather the crates so they can take it (not needing a short rest). "I think we should push on to Phandalin tonight. I don't feel like sleeping outside – or in this cave – tonight."
Until the goblins leave (and after they leave) he will keep an eye on them making sure they are not trying anything harmful or outside the 'agreement' they have.
Sylharice continues to carve the flesh "its for my fathers experiments moralesh.... I would prefer to bring him alive but it didn't go well for him right?I can see Norwin that doesn't please u ..but u must understand the path to knowledge sometimes needs... macabre methods "
“What?!?” Moralesh yells, shocked “You can’t just leave it become what it should? You have to try to revive it or something? Turn this creature into some potion or something? We killed it because it was going to kill us. Not because we were after some of it’s body. Sure eat it or bury it or throw it in the river. But to carve it up to experiment? Maybe if you die we carve you up? Send part of you to someone to experiment on. Death is normal, but if your “experiment “ goes against that I can’t let you.”
sylharice after he had taken his sample continues'' EAT IT?what do got me for.. some savage?Or that i am a necromancer to ressurect him as my thrall? To answer your question i am not going to revive it..and u are correct in a way it is for a potion. .i dont know for what ..my father does..u can complain to him if u want.. as for when i ll be dead if it is up to another wizzard it might be worse' ' and he put the skin into his bag
“Well we’ll see” Moralesh says as he sits in a huff, not unlike a 6 year old child and says, a little late after the rant “And thanks for not disturbing that cargo.” and closes his eyes to rest a bit.
Hearing that Willow is stabilized and resting, Graeme closes his eyes "... jus' gonna ... close me eyes ... for a...." and slips into a sleep for one hour.
He sleeps deeply and misses the conversation between Moralesh and Sylharice.
Upon waking Graeme casts second wind (Bonus Action: Second Wind: 11 hp) and suddenly feels like a new man, even his humor has returned! He looks over to Willow, seeing she's still resting and then walks over to the pool in the chamber and begins to wash the blood off his clothes and armor as he cleans he half sings, half mumbles a tune well off key... "Wi' a hundred pipers, an' a', an' a', Wi' a hundred pipers, an' a', an' a', We'll up an' ...<mumbles>, Wi' a hundred pipers, an' a', an' a'. <mumbles>... awa', awa' It's owre the border awa', awa', We'll on an' we'll march ...<mumbles>' Wi' its yetts, its castle an' a', an a'..."
His voice is relatively low, but the acoustics of the cave causes his voice to bounce and echo about the cave.
Sylharice sit in a corner and takes out his flute..he turns his head to Moralesh "no worries moralesh I don't like to meddle to other people's affairs.." and he smiles..he thought "morality is such an interesting subject..." and he accompanies graeme with his flute
Though he is tired Moralesh has a hard time getting anything more than short breather in this space. With the goblins issues still being worked on, the dead nearby, and this cave being the place of his recent hardships, he just wants to move on. “Hey Yeemik? You decided what you and your tribe are doing now? I don’t want you to be attacked by another group after we leave, nor do I want to hear of the Cragmaw Goblins hurting the people around here.” Moralesh gets up to collect one of the potions Norwin found. “You’re ok if I give this to Willow right?” After this he sits beside Sildar. “Where do you go from here?”
Sylharice asks Norwin "I apologise beforehand for my ignorance but I would like to learn more about your god if...is possible...will u enlighten me? i am always eager to learn new things"
Yeemik looks pretty badly injured and he spends a long time looking longingly at the stolen crates while resting a little. "Goblin leave here. King Grol take over Cragmaw, Klarg his. Grol send other Bugbear from Cragmaw Castle when he find Klarg dead. We not want to be King Grol goblin, he work for Black Dragon, Black Dragon want Dwarf, he sent to King Grol. We leave, find new home somewhere else be Cragmaw there." He gnashes his filed teeth to make a point then picks up the renegade goblin by its armour. "You on guard for rest of life," he shouts in its face then he gives it a kick up the backside. "Let goblin take loot? Goblin help stranger, should be reward, yes?" He eyes the party speculatively and fiddles with his bow. He looks at the body of Klarg then at the party, then seems to make a decision. "Goblin go now. No more steal on road."
The goblins leave and Sildar slumps. down agains a stalagmite, clearly exhausted. "It seems you have a decision to make gentlemen. The hour appears to be late, and it is quite some distance to Phandalin. Perhaps it might be wise to wait for morning here, rather than risk the trail at night. There are other more dangerous things roam these lands than Goblins, so I'm led to believe."
He looks over in revulsion as Sylharic takes a cut of flesh from Klargs body before turning too Moralesh. "I'm afraid all our equipment was taken to this King Grol, I learnt that much, and that Gundren was asked for by name. They knew we were coming, and were waiting for us, this Back Dragon (whoever or whatever it is) seems to be taking great interest in Gundrens business." He shakes his head. "I know not what happened to our escort. The left to scout the route ahead, and while they were gone we were ambushed. I can only hope they are safely in Phandalin now."
"Know this. I must now get to Phandalin, and I offer you fifty gold to get me there safely. I have the means to see you paid once we are there and I will explain fully once we arrive. I have urgent business of my own there as well, which needs attention." He rubs his face. "Gundren and his brothers have found an entrance to a place of legend. The Wave Echo Cave." He begins to recite a story.
"More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost."
"Gundren found it, and had a map, taken by the Goblins along with our equipment and Gundren to Cragmaw Castle. I don't know how they found out, we'd been careful to tell virtually no one." He sighs. "It is late, and where we were ambushed is still a good half days ride to Phandalin. A few hours won't make a difference, and it'll help Willow and I recover."
When Yeemik is asking for a reward Norwin will respond to him: "No, you can take some of my food so you can live for the coming days, but the deal was: We help you become the leader, you leave alive. No rewards. And you better hold to the deal, or we might come looking for you."
"That Cave sounds interesting, I wouldn't mind paying a visit there sometime. Have you seen the map? Do you know where it is? Speaking of places... Do we know where that castle is they took Gundren?" He also tells Sildar that he expects the escorts got away based on his investigation on the ambush site.
"You are right, maybe a few hours are no problem..."
Once an hour had passed, Willow would startle awake and immediately bristle with anger and a defensive stance, her wound staunching itself further. (Second Wind, 3 HP) It takes her a second to realize the party has hunkered down, and she eyes the room with great concern. When it dawns on her the group is somewhat safe, she calms down.
"Oh. Fighting over. Willow lost? Sad. Remember wolf. Well trained. Was stronger than Klarg?"
She spots the crates, and recognizes the logo, "Oh, cargo! Take back? Or go back? Tell come get? Important. Maybe get try again go destination!
Over night Norwin will tell Sylharice something about Kelemvor and how the journey continues on after death. Explaining that all souls, wether you deem them good or bad should be allowed to passed on in an orderly fashion. That is why he wouldn't agree with desecrating bodies after the soul has left, that is now Kelemvor's. However, he wouldn't argue about other people's motives and customs.
