"Here." He pulls out a purse and removes some coin, then hands it to Mulligan. "That was a rare thing you did. I wouldn't have let that go on much longer, but you got in before me." He gives a grin. "I'm sure that means that you're the right folk for the job." He points to the money. "Twenty five gold there, and don't fret about it. You look like you need it more than I do, and it was nice to see those three get a poke in the eye."
Sylharice listens and keeps eating his pie.he feels quite generous and offers a slice to mulligan "want some? i guess all that fighting makes u wanna eat!
Back from the counter, Jordar watched the whole discussion trying not to interfere, but with white (even more) knuckles and itching to throw them over a smug noble's face. As the whole situation is disarmed, he looks from a distance and raises his rum mug in a toasting manner towards Mulligan, eventually approaching, "That was a nice thing you've done there." he nods and smiles, "Was kind of reluctant about getting involved... Got enough trouble with the Peninsula fellows as is." he pauses for a moment for a sip of rum an looks at the others nearby, "Tell me, couldn't help but overhear you lot talking about some Gundren?"
Norwin steps over and says: "Ah good, I see you've fixed the problems with the contract without getting physical about it. I think next time Merric should read the contract better to prevent too much problems. You don't think Tallstag was going off contract for this right?" (He is deadly serious about this).
"Yeah, I was also here for the Rockseeker escort job. Some unlucky dude died in Phandelver and I need to perform the last rites there, might as well make myself useful on my way there"
"Ah. Not a problem with the contract I think," says Sildar. "I know these types of people all too well, and it's not about the money; more likely he was after that poor fellows farm. Find a way to keep him in debt, then take everything." He gives a grin. "But I can make sure none of that happens. Before I can do that though," and his grin fades, "you two should take his warning seriously. They might be noble, but the Tallstag's are nasty and they do not like it when their schemes get interfered with. He'll likely have put a price on your heads by the morning." He waves a hand in the air. "That sounds far more serious than it is. If you leave, he wont be able to find you and it'll be forgotten about in a ten day or so."
"So, to business then. The job is a fairly simple one. It's a wagon escort from here to Phandalin, up the Triboar Trail. It's around seventy miles or so, so your looking at three, perhaps four days travel up there, depending on the track. The High Road's not so bad nowadays, but the Triboar can be quite rough, you know how these back country trails can be." He looks round each of you in turn. "We're not expecting you to do this for free," he laughs, "so Gundren is offering ten gold each; payment on delivery to Phandalin. If you're interested we can go right now, and," he points to Mulligan and Graeme, "get the two of you out the way of any Tallstag retribution!"
Sylharice leans forward and says," u have a deal from my part at least. After all it LL be a good thing to see something different and at the same time do some work for master gundren.not that I know him personally but my master is friend with him.one question although.is he waiting for us in phandalin?like I told u before i have business with him"
Jordar had approached, mug in hand, after briefly talking to Mulligan and hearing the name Gundren again, he takes a sip and listens intently, swallowing hard at a certain phrase and raising one eyebrow "Ten pieces each... each day, right?" he says displaying a weird and hopeful smile.
Sildar laughs. "I'm afraid I'm not in a position to negotiate, though Gundren has not left Neverwinter yet, despite pressing business in Phandalen. He wanted to make sure of a competent escort first before leaving, and I have to admit, you folk seem to fit the bill." He gives a nod to Sylaharice. "Agree to the terms and you'll see him this very evening before he leaves."
He taps the table a couple of times. "Ten gold a piece on delivery was what he said," giving Jordar an apologetic smile, then answers Graeme. "You'd have to ask Gundren about getting an advance, but he's a dwarf." He laughs. "Good luck with that!"
Sildar nods. "If we are in agreement, we should go now. It's not far."
Letting the group recover their weapons, Sildar waits for them out in the evening air. A stiff breeze is blowing in off the water and pushes them along as they head towards the Winged Wyvern bridge close to the ramparts of Castle Never. There is a bustle to the place even in early evening and the streets are surprisingly busy as they cross the river. Some ten minutes after leaving "the Beached Leviathan" they find themselves in the Market District of the city, which appears to be mostly closing for the night, though one or two shops appear still to be open. Not far from the wall, Sildar stops and they find themselves outside a warehouse, under a sign which is swaying gently in the wind:
Rockseeker Bros. Prospecting Mining Supplies
Opening a small door built into a larger gate, Sildar motions the group inside to a modest courtyard where they find a dwarf tying a canvas cover off on a cart full of supplies. As well as the dwarf, two men are off to one side tending to four horses obviously getting them ready for the road. One of the men turns to stare sullenly at the newcomers. At the rear of the courtyard a couple of oxen munch away contentedly on some fodder.
"Dammit Sildar," the dwarf grumbles as the group enters. "We shoulda been away hours ago. We coulda been there by tomorrow." He sighs and gives the party a speculative look. "You lot here for't job then?" He turns to check a rope on the cart.
The dwarf looks at the proffered hand, then smiles and shakes it. "That I am." He gives a hearty laugh. "You all 'ave an edge over me, knowin' my name. Might I 'ave the pleasure of knowin' who I'm taking into my employ?" His eyes twinkle as he speaks.
Sylharice bows with grace and with a steady voice greets him" Master Gundren.... my name is Sylharice..although u don't know me..u know of my father master Gimpexinus. He sent his regards and with them this bag of vials.."and then he takes a leather bag with vials that they have a purple colour.. he takes a breath and continues.." I don't know their content or what are they for and I didn't ask..I only fullfil my father's wishes..another one was to help u in whatever task u were gonna put me and that's the reason I accepted to escort your delivery "

"Thank you," Mulligan says to Sildar. "I won't turn you down. Thank you very much."
She takes one look at the pie and begins to gag. "No thank you," she says to Sylharice.
"Yes, we were talking about Gundren," she says to Jordar.

"Aye, I'm in as well." Graeme says. "As for business, can I assume there's a 'good faith' measure o' that 10 gold up front?"

"Let's get this pairtie started, shall we?"
"Ten gold is a fair price. I've certainly done harder work for less. And I am all for getting out of town sooner rather than later."
