Viktor couldn't help but give a deep laugh as the small grey creature climbed his back, the smell of them on his shoulders was rather pungent, but the musk scent of damp and dark was all too familiar to him in his lifelong travels on the road and in the cover of darkness and twilight. He could hear the gentle clank of the dagger on his armor, the tight grip of their fingers pulling themselves up. He manuevered his arms and elbows to provide as much a bridge as possible. Once secured on his shoulder he shifted his weight of his weapons and shield. He felt the bag of gold bunch up against his neck but after shaking his head carefully, as to not poke Lyssma's eye out, he managed to finally find some comfort.
"Oh ho! To Adventure then my little friend!" He bellowed out comically, like a child reading a story and pretending to be a hero. He took out some hardtack saved from a previous journey and broke off a piece and held it above his head where he assumed Lyssma's hands could reach. "I don't know how best to say this Lyssma, but I have never encountered one who looks and speaks such as yourself. I must confess I have travelled wide and far..."
Viktor's eyes darted about the gate as others began conversing and checking supplies, "... where do you hail from?"

"I am Ethan." Ethan says as introductions are being made. "We should likely get on the road as soon as we can, since we will need to find a place to set up camp in or near the spire itself." He is clearly not up for talking too much, though is friendly and courtius in his speach and actions.
As Kel'dan cracks the faintest smile at the antics of Lyssma, an almost imperceptible tension is released from his shoulders. He nods in the affirmative, doing his best not to let the fear show in his voice, "I am as ready as I am likely to be..." He pulls his pack back onto his shoulder to prepare for the journey back to the spire.
As the five of you journey forth, the sun hangs high in the sky, shining down favorably on your new adventure. After a couple of hours of walking, you come to the Emerald Spire in the Echo Wood; at least, the top of it. The spire is located in a glen called the Spire Glen, a 500 yard wide clearing in the southwest reaches of the wood. You can see the ruins of an ancient, green tower sticking up out of the ground in the distance.
I would like everyone to roll a Perception check for me.
"From the deep," Lyssma says in Viktor's ear. "The Underdark. A place called Slugsludge Syncline. 'Tis nice. As I say, I was pulled here by the strange energies of this here spire and its lower levels. They've seeped far into the earth. The lady Drovust wasn't lyin' when she said it runs deep."
As the group leaves the town trough the gate finally, Syd breathes a little bit easier though she does pull the hood of her cloak up even more to hide within, it's a wonder she can even see out of it.
Viktor taps Lyssma's legs and glances to the group, "Friends I hear voices ahead!" He says in a rather hushed voice and stopping. "Shall we approach in force or with a quieter approach.."
Viktor glanced at his heavily armored body, "I may not be best suited to a quiet approach, but I defer to those with more experience in this sort of thing."

Kel'dan freezes in place, hearing the voices emanating from ruin. Instinctively, a rush of energy courses down his arms coalescing around his hands in a fog of shadow.
"The Paralictor mentioned goblins right? I'd imagine they're unlikely to be friendly. Would be good to attempt to maintain some element of surprise, no?" He looks around, looking for some reassurance. "I'm more useful from a distance, either way."
The half-elf awkwardly unstraps the light crossbow from his back, struggling slightly to load a bolt.
Viktor gently sets Lyssma down on the ground and stays on one knee looking up to Syd with a grin, "Be my guest friend! A little recon vigilance is not a bad idea!"
Viktor holds out his hand for Syd, "Allow me to help you focus"
Viktor reaches out to cast "Guidance" on Syd (If Syd accepts it)

"Watch yourself." Ethan says with a glance to the structure ahead. "Don't be shy of calling for help if you need us." He has a hand on the hilt of his greatsword, but is willing to wait to see what a bit of scouting first can tell them.
Syd moves forward, unseen and unheard, toward the tower. The stone staircase that led up to the tower’s door is now nothing more than a rubble-strewn cliff. On the tower’s south side, a dirt path winds up the steep embankment to a pitch-black doorway. The voices grow louder, as you see two goblins inhabiting the doorway. They both wield crude-looking scimitars, and one of them carries a horn. You are able to stay hidden behind a large bit of rubble.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Staying hidden for a few minutes to see if any other creatures show up and then studying the area to see if there was a way we could get above them or behind them. Syd will then move back to the group and let them know what is going on.

"Ready as well and happy to be leaving the town." Syd speaks up from the shadows, clearly ignoring the innocent question from Viktor.

Lyssma, Kel'dan, and Viktor each notice the sounds of loud chatter as you approach the ruined tower. None of you know the language being spoken.
