Corinne listens to Shi and the Mayor's exchange trying to keep up with the exchange of power from before the boneyard to now, then watches Greyce go over and give a lesson in the natural order to a child's soul, nodding with understanding. She takes a big breath in and a long breath out before moving over to Morticia, noticing her affect was quite similar to Corinne's, "How are you holding up, dear?" she whispers.

Moritica watches Greyce engage the young children in astonishment, listening in on what they had to say on the side lines. Had she been a child, even with the 'tough love' approach, their words would have persuaded her so easily. She was amazed at how easily Greyce made it seem.
The rogue turns her head toward Corrine when she hears her voice, giving her a weary smile. "I've been... better, I guess... This is all just... kind of hard to believe." Her smile falls into a frown as she scans over the children, then the other townsfolk. "I feel bad for these people... They didn't deserve happened to them... Whatever it is..."Her eyes return back to Corrine. "But, um... How are you doing? You were, uh, pretty shaken up back there."

Arabella Tharmethion and the rest of the council can be found in a hedge thicket with several other members of the council and a ranting ghostly man who bears a strong resemblance to Arbella, albeit with a short beard and a broken nose. You recognize this man as Garrid Tharmethion, a Knight of Ozem who was friends with Roslar during the Shining Crusade. Garrid is telling Arbella and her friends that he’s come from beyond the grave to assure them they aren’t dead, and that greater heroics await Arbella once the “nefarious trickery” that afflicts the town is resolved.

Corinne nods, she understood that overwhelmed feeling, “Terrible things happen to people all the time, it’s easy to get bogged down with it all...especially now, while we are LITERALLY surrounded by death.” She gives a short, nervous chuckle,
“Yes, I’m used to a very different kind of excitement... the closest I’d come to battle was some attempted assassinations on clients, or the occasional drunken noble who thought that they’re manhood simply HAD to be shared with some unwitting person...” Corinne noticeably bristles at that last one, her eyes flashing inky black, nails sharpening for a second before returning to their usual beauty and silvery moonlight.
“Anyway... this all is a lot to take in, if everyone is dead...” her eyes go wide as she quickly looks around, “my client, lord wrenley...I imagine he’s around here somewhere, dead..” a wry smile spreads across her face before being replaced with worry, “I guess that means I’m out of a job right now...”
Briana approaches the council and Garrid calmly, waving. "Hello. If you don't mind, how do you know everyone's not dead? This is the Boneyard after all, there are limited ways to get here unwittingly." She tilts her head curiously.
"This is a trick that the enemies of Roslar's Coffer are playing on the people of this town to spread fear and chaos among the populace." Garrid says in response to Briana.

Briana nods calmly. "Then what precisely is going on?" she asks, tilting her head. "That's a very nice overall explanation, but what about the details? Are we really in the Boneyard? If so, how? If not, where are we, and how did we get there?"
Garrid gets fairly aggravated as Briana challenges his explanations. "Yes, we're in the Boneyard. It's possible that creatures like the ones who were spreading rumors that everyone had died brought us here to frighten the populace. Are you done with your questions?"
Briana tilts her head and says in a perfectly reasonable tone of voice, "No. How do you know all of this? And for that matter, why are you here?" She blinks.
Morticia's eyes soften on Corrine as she speaks, her lips thinning into a wry smile. At the sudden change in the others eyes and fingernails, however, she's taken aback slightly, but manages to relax herself soon enough. Instead of a smile returning though, she frowns at Corrine's realization.
"I have a feeling that whatever... this..." She gestures over to herself and the others, trying to elude to the fact that they're in the Boneyard but not technically dead. "Is going to be a job in of itself. I mean... Even though I'd like to keep my eyes on my own personal mission, I want to find out what happened to these people, a-and if it's happened anywhere else. Maybe we can prevent this from happening to any other town...?"

Greyce would blink at the child's simple and enthusiastic response. Truthfully they weren't fully expecting to be successful, but felt a sense of pride and other emotions well up in their chest. They'd stand up a bit abruptly, looking up and away from the children. Their eyes and visage would flicker once again. Not again. A soft grumble would start in their throat, but then they'd clear it. Blinking their eyes back to grey, Greyce would look back to the kid, giving them an awkward thumbs up with a trying smile before chuckling and rubbing the back of their head. They'd reach out, with a stiff hand, giving their shoulder a little pat. "That's the spirit kid!" Greyce would glance back to the others with a hint of a pleading look. I did good right? That's what we needed to do?
Corinne shakes her head, "I'm not certain that I know how to be an adventurer, nor would I necessarily consider myself...'hero' material..." she looks around nervously, biting her lip slightly, a thin drop of blood seems to bead on her crimson lips, as if she were debating on saying something. She seems to think better of it with a sheepish grimace, "Whatever that means.."
She tries to put on a calm, professional stance, but its apparent that the pale lady is waning fast, exhausted and numbed from the last few hours, her clothing now a dust and blood smeared mess, holes and tears hinting at the flawless porcelain skin below, a historical record of the party's previous fights. "I agree.." she says grabbing hold of the last of her inner strength, Corinne feels like she's running on the last of what she has left to give, hoping that it will be enough. "We should try and help these people, it is the best route towards getting out of here, after all. As far as preventing..." she reaches slowly for Morticia's shoulder, pausing to look at the woman, making sure the touch was not unwelcome, before placing a hand on her. "You seem to be an altruistic person. I do not find myself lucky enough to be around people like that very often... I have my doubts as to whether we could prevent something that could kill so many people so quickly, but I trust in you. If you think it's possible, I will try whatever I can to help make that happen."
The vampiress notices the important conversation between Shi and the other villagers and slides an arm under Morticia's, "Come. Let's go see if we can offer our macabre friend some assistance..."

When there had been a pause in the conversation, grey hues would look back over to see how Shi and Greyce were doing. Shi was asking some more questions to Garrid, looking to be in her element, meanwhile Greyce was looking at them for some reassurance. She laughs softly with a small smile on her face, and gives them two enthusiastic thumbs up's. "Good job!" She mouths.
Morticia's attention is then returned back to Corrine when she speaks again, her eyes softening on the courtesan. "I don't think any of us are 'hero' material, but all good hero's are usually the unsuspecting ones. Besides..."The rogue gives a quick once over Corrine, then shrugs. "I think you could pull it off. U-uh-- I-if you want."She sputters and looks away, her eyes on the ground. They only return when she feels the others hand on her shoulder, relaxing her, though her cheeks are still rosy. "A-ah... t-thank you."
She clears her throat as Corrine links her arm through hers. "R-right. Maybe we should get Grey--"Then she's cut off by the screeching, immediately flinching and makes an attempt to cover her ears. Her eyes go wild trying to find the source and when she finds it and sees Shi fall to the ground unconscious, her hand goes to her crossbow.
