"you are not wrong..." Sean says contemplating the possibility. Then adds. "it's worth the consideration. Perhaps that's the actual test, to see how we react. They asked to bring the person in, that's the main request, maybe the added reward is to see if we are easily swayed by the promise of riches."
Listening to your discussion, Caden says to Sean, "Er-I think it doesn't matter if others can recognize you, just your target. And-and it's not really required to win, but if you did, I'd place my money on you. And the kid did volunteer for this and fully understands what will happen." Then he grins slightly. "No-no need to apologize. It's my first week being a real guard, not a trainee, so this is very new to me." He scratches the back of his head before pulling out two files from a pocket that should't be able to hold two files. "Right, so the one on the left is the kid, the one on the right the woman. It has the details inside, but once you take you, you can't change, so pick wisely."
As you try to grab them, Caden stops you. "I'm not supposed to let you see both. You're only allowed to see the one with the target you choose, sorry. King's orders."
He looks appalled, quickly glancing down to his sword before looking back up at you. "Are you suggesting I go against the king's orders? He'd fire me at best, and I need this job to support my family. I can't help you. You have to choose one please, sir. I won't break the rules for you."
You open the file and see a piece of paper with the details about the young boy. It reads:
Target: Galan Ashryver, Crown Prince of Wendlyn
Looks: A demi-fae male, dark hair, olive skin, turquoise eyes ringed with gold.
Age: 11 years
Room: Second door down in the west wing. There are two entrances, one to his bedroom and one to his adjoining practice room. His bedroom holds a balcony.
Personal: Eight guards attend him at all times. Three are stationed at each entrance and two are stationed on the balcony. They care deeply about the prince’s safety.
Fighting prowess: Prince Galan knows how and enjoys swordplay, though he's never taken on anybody in a real fight, only sparring with his tutors and guards.
Schedule: Prince Galan will be in his rooms all day tomorrow for your test.
Details: Non-lethal force is expected. You will be tried for the deaths of him or his guards, though knocking them unconscious is allowed. Do not begin until tomorrow, although scouting and spying is allowed so long as you don’t enter his rooms or the balcony. If the prince can’t identify you when asked, you will gain bonus points, although this isn’t required. You also gain more points the quicker he is brought. Bring the boy to the throne room when you have him.
"A guard's uniform? That could work. But who among us is skilled in subterfuge, capable enough to trick the little prince. Specially when he might be waiting trickery."
“Just thinking to get through the door. As to keeping the prince from seeing us let me worry about that. Besides royalty never pay attention to the servants.”
“I have a feeling they won’t make it that easy on us. Is there any way you can tuck you ears in? Or if we get you guard helmets then that should cover them. I thought if we could figure out a good excuse we could enter his room with a chest. Stuff him in it and take him to the throne room.”
"Wait, why don't we just ask the child nicely?"
I have a weird sense of humor.

"Agreed, the kid is probably going to be harder, youth and all that, but if things get fisica I think the kid would be easier to handle."
I move up and look over the two files to see what information they hold.
As you try to grab them, Caden stops you. "I'm not supposed to let you see both. You're only allowed to see the one with the target you choose, sorry. King's orders."
"What if you accidentally dropped one without realizing it?"

"I was suggesting no such thing. I wouldn't betray my queen, and I expect you to follow orders as well. I think we'll go with the child."

He nods, handing you the file. With that, he says, "The details are in there. Good luck." The guard exits, leaving the four of you alone.
Taking the file I set it out for all to see and begin going through the file.
“Ok, I’ll try my best with this I guess...” Beth says, slightly irritated.

“An interesting game they’ve come up with. I wonder if we could find servant livery? Or a guards uniform?”

“Just thinking to get through the door. As to keeping the prince from seeing us let me worry about that. Besides royalty never pay attention to the servants.”
"Servants? We're Fae. Let's just have the most inconspicuous member of this group ask the guards to see him and ask the prince to go to his father."
