Hino sighs and whispers to Meera "Since when do little birds and snorting pigs offer a threat to big, burly strong men? We women need to protect them, I think!"
A raven dropping a book at your feet in Candlekeep. The book is about a Vistani tale - containing a map of some sorts that didn't belong there. It lead to a strange Chalet full of crows. There is definitely a mystery of sorts. Your raven friend is definitely encouraging you all to this place, but why? There are no pigs outside, anywhere. What is up with this strange place?
After discovering that there are no pigs outside, Hino absentmindedly scratches her chin, nods in agreement (as if she's accepting the results of an algorithm processing internally, deciding what to do next), and turns to go upstairs in the strange house.
From C5, there is a stairway leading up to C8. It's a parlor of some sort. The centerpiece of this parlor is a gold-inlaid low table, around which a handful of overstuffed chairs and sofas are neatly arranged. Other furniture includes a cabinet full of glass decanters and wine goblets, and a six-foot-tall gilded harp standing in the northwest corner. A staircase in the northeast corner ascends to the second floor, and several dusty sheets lie in a small heap nearby.
‘Something, or someone, is toying with us. I don’t like being made the fool...’ grouses Orvok. In the parlour (C5) he pays careful attention to the dusty sheets, and what they might have once covered..
There is a little liquid left in the decanters, yes. And the sheets have been moved off the furniture by someone or something. You get the overall impression that this place is not unoccupied. Something, or someone, is living here. Whatever it is, you cannot see it, or it hasn't made it's presence know to you.
Perhaps explore more of the Chalet would provide more clues?
‘There’s something very off here. The hairs at the back of my neck haven’t settled down since we arrived.’ Orvok comments, before following Mav up the stairs to join Hino.
Against the west wall stands a handsome rolltop desk, north of which two leather-padded armchairs face a fireplace carved with images of wolves and stags. Draped over each chair is a wolf skin. A narrow spiral staircase choked with cobwebs winds up the east wall. The rolltop desk is locked.
Hino purrs with excitement as she sees Mavshoon work the lock with practiced expertise. “I like the way you work those picks, Mav...you have beautifully dexterous hands! One wonders what else they’re capable of?!”

Barbär readies his warhammer and shield
Ready then? On the offense everyone! We're not alone and we're going to find the threat.
Orvok nods and, readying his shield & axe, heads out the broken door to see where the noise is coming from...

Investigation: 7
Is there anything in the decanters? Mavshoon looks around the parlor and will pour himself a drink if there's alcohol in the decanters.
"For an old abandoned estate this is quite well stocked...."

You do know wine goes bad when it isn't stored properly, right? You could very well be drinking poison, my friend.
Barbär seems to be getting antsy, and lets out a groan.
Im checking the way we came. I dont want anything to come up from behind.
And he will go back to the previous room
Does this room look like its been recently occupied (before us) - ie the glasses are mostly clean, or the table isn't covered in dust etc

"A shame our hosts have no manners and leave decanters mostly empty...." and Mavshoon will sigh.
"Perhaps they are just heavy sleepers...." and will head up the stairs.

'Mav?' Orvok asks 'Can you do something about the desk?'
Meanwhile, he goes over to the fireplace to examine the carvings...
Investigation: 12
Mavshoon looks at Orvok like seriously? And walks over to the desk and pulls out a set of picks from his waistcoat.
