Nerra glances to the Chief, then to this unknown new person. She frowns, but sighs. "Very well, let's do this then, I guess..." Listening to the dagger upgrade she just shrugs. "Doesn't seem too useful, as I won't be getting in close enough to use daggers. Do you have anything else?"

Maerwyn draws out two of her daggers and without any warning throws both of the daggers aiming at the floorplan lying on the desk.

Tetch lets out a short whistle that resonates through the room. For a short while you wonder what the f that was about, but then you feel rather than hear something else in the room. You turn and standing there is a metal panther, painted with blue streaks.

"Meet Starguard, my latest AI and our new protector. It has better armour, better stealth protocols, and is armed to the teeth. Still unsatisfied Nerra?"

Mae was trying to hit the metal Panther AI, that's self-defence.

b. Mae aimed at the map but the daggers hit the AI instead

c. Mae aimed for the Chief but the daggers missed the target

Choose one. Did you aim at the map, or at Chief?

It's unlikely or even a dubious action to aim for the Chief, what's the point of being a double agent if one of her patrons is dead? It's the map she aimed for at the first attempt.

You might have been aiming for the ShapeSifter, but you hit Starguard, and everyone gets a demonstration of it's abilities.

Two cannons flip out of Starguard's back, and a whirring noise emanating from them is shortly followed by two asynchronous blasts.

Mae is knocked prone from the force of being hit with two blasts of pure power, and Starguard is suddenly there standing over her and pinning her down.

Hopper quickly points his ICER at Mae, ready to shoot.

Nerra shoots Mae with her own ICER, she wouldn't hesitate...

ICER to hit: 18

Your ICER hits Mae but hits her armor, though she is suddenly blown back by a flash of blue force and you see a blur of black and blue as Starguard leaps onto her.

"Well, now we know the self-preservation protocols work." Tetch says with a shrug.

ICER: Hit:13

What? Mae would never try to hit the Shapeshifter, that's a more dubious act than trying to hit the chief!

"Chief, I submit that I am not able to workw ith this individual." Nerra says, nodding to Mae. "Whatever they were just attempting was reckless, at the very least, and dangerous at the worst." She looks to the others in the room. "This prison break is going to be hard enough without a loose-cannon along for the ride."

"Noted. However there is nothing I can do. I'm sure you'll find some use for her."

"Actually... we may need a diversion."

Mae manages to get on her feet, with a growl of irritation almost inaudible to her colleagues. Then she continues to speak to the mini crowd that encircles her, "You'll need one diversion but there will be many opportunities for teleportation, I can cast Misty Step for quick teleportation through unoccupied space, isn't it interesting?"
