Meanwhile in Waterdeep (Bruvir/Avys)
Insight to make sure he's being honest: 18
Avys will nod and put his hand out to shake Mr. Trench's hand, "Excellent, it was a pleasure meeting you and I'm sure we will be in touch regularly." he follows Bruvir out of the store as Iago floats onto his shoulder, waving at the detective as they exit the store. He pauses looking at Bruvir, "So where to next? We can let the others check in with the rest of the store owners and vendors. It'll be good for multiple faces to be shown I think....yes I think that would be nice. Perhaps we can follow a lead for one of the factions that left us a note? I'm partial to the Order of the Gauntlet or Harpers myself."
He pauses, rubbing his chin as Iago floats overhead. He looks at you with intrigue and speaks with a semblance of compassion. "We can also get started with some experiments to try to get a lead on how to thwart this curse. The decision is yours." (@Bruvir, I have very little preference as well. I'm fine with hanging at the manor or doing a faction mission, Avys has no need to keep hoping from store to store at this moment...perhaps later)
As Syl brings his attacks upon the Scarecrow, it falls apart in a pile of straw and sack. Kashawolf sniffs the dead scarecrow.
(SNIFFING NOISES). NOT FRIEND. NOT FOOD.
Her head looks around, and makes sure nothing else is going to attack them, she sees Nom and Syl nearby. She approaches them slowly.
(SNIFFING NOISES). FRIENDS. DO NOT EAT. NOT FOOD.
Kashwolf sits. She begins panting, staring at Syl's staff expectantly. She licks her chops.
STICK STICK STICK STICK! THROW THROW THROW THROW!
As Kasha is wild shaped, you can see intelligence in her eyes - which look just like her eyes - so you know it's really her in wolf form. However, something is not quite right. You get the strong impression that, as part of her strange fae heritage, that while in animal form, she's not just a druid soul in animal form, but actually, now, literally that animal - meaning being in animal form greatly suppresses her druid consciousness, giving the animal much more control over it's actions as opposed to Kasha being in complete control.
Syl wrings his wrists. Who knew scarecrows could be so...difficult to punch? Either way, his usual wide, sloppy grin plasters on his face as he gives an unsteady bow towards Nom, Fleliara, and Kashawolf. Training in the wine cellar had paid off.
At the sight of Kasha, though, Syl laughs - a light, clear sound that he rarely does in earnest. He crouches down, placing both hands on his knees and wagging his quarterstaff in front of the wolf. "Nice magic, Kasha. Who's a good, scarecrow-killing...oh, you want the stick. Well," he chuckles, winding around and throwing his staff a good thirty feet in the distance, "Fetch! I guess? Not sure how this whole Druid thing works."
Naumick's fear subsides and stops fleeing, turning back and walking slowly to rejoin his friends. He arrives red-faced, muttering, "Stupid magical scarecrow. I t'weren't really scared, you know." He kicks the hay on the ground, stomping on it a few times. "You think that was all of them? Where'd they come from?"

"I have no interest in the Harpers but I was considering speaking to the Gauntlet or the Zhents. Might make sense to see if anyone else in the manor is interested before speaking to them." Bruvir commented as they walked.

Avys will nod, "Yes let's see if anyone would like to join us."
THE ENCLAVE With the scarecrows defeated and the farmlands of Undercliff safe for now, Jeryth is most pleased with us, and the Enclave now considers us friends. You are awarded a level up, and 500gp total. Kashwolf wags her tail. As a blessing, all the foliage surrounding the manor is new, refreshed, and alive. Birds can be heard singing in the trees, and wildlife frolics in the shubbery.
THE MANOR Back at the manor, Lif has cleaned and transformed the common area into a much cleaner area. All of the debris, dust, and cobwebs have been removed, and running water is now available. You would easily be able to afford new furniture, supplies, and food with the money made from the Enclave. If someone would like to join Avys and Bruvir on a mission, let me know.
Go ahead and role-play both of the above during the weekend.

(OOC: I don't think Bruvir or Avys know about the ghost)
Walking back into the manor to find it empty and much cleaner then they had left it, Bruvir began searching for the other members of the house when he ran into the ghost. Drawing his hammer threateningly in front of him he shouted out to Avys, "Spirit! Stay on you're guard! There might be more about!" before turning to Lif and commanding, "Begone apparition or face extinction!" He leveled his hammer threateningly at the ghost to emphasize his point.
Lif startles visibly and throws up his hands. He points to his mouth and shakes his head. He holds up a finger and looks around. Ah crap. This place isn't dusty. Can't write. He thinks for a moment. He makes a gesture for you to lower your weapon, and then points to himself, along with a sweeping gesture displaying the main floor, smiling. He doesn't appear to be a threat, and he's dressed in a very fancy butler suit.
Avys walks in a bit startled at first then gives Bruvir a glance. "You know, not everything you see needs to be attacked. He looks harmless and if the spirit wanted to attack you, it would have already.... my my though, look at this. Everything is so cleannnn." he looks at the spirit, "Did you assist our companions with the task? Do you or did you work here?" Avys is absolutely intrigued by what he's seeing, Iago floats around the spirit to inspect it himself before floating on top of the shoulder of Avys. He inspects the ghost himself, poking at Lif slightly to see what type of reaction happens. "You can't speak, can you? How troublesome... Can you interact with objects? I should have some writing utensils somewhere in here" he searches his pack before bulling out a pen and some paper and placing it on a nearby table.
"Did you assist our companions with the task? Do you or did you work here?" He nods. "Do you or did you work here?" He makes a motion with his hand that both statements are now true. When he is poked, he allows it, only to confirm your curiosity. He is indeed a ghost of some kind. "You can't speak, can you?" He shakes his head no. "How troublesome... Can you interact with objects?" He nods yes, finding something to pick up and show you, like the pen and paper. He takes it.
You must be part of the group I met before. My name is Lif. I am a poltergiest, but a friendly one, and the old barkeep of this establishment. Please don't kill me. I only wish to serve. I can cook, and clean!
"At least they didn't turn invisible or enlarge suddenly," Syl jokes as Kasha bounds away. For the first time in a while, Syl walks on his own two legs. He gives Naumick a wink. "Now that - that would've put a shiver in my spine."
And, probably to the surprise of everyone, Syl becomes a blur of motion and easily meets Kasha - even as a wolf - in pace, all the way back to the mansion. Syl clears the front stairwell in one leap and takes a look at the new...plants and animals in the mansion? Huh. He wonders what else could grow. He might not even need to meet up with those shady Zhents in the back of the pub around town any more....
He grins as he walks into Avys and Bruvir dealing with Lif. He waves for their poltergeist proprieter to fix him something alcoholic - the kind didn't matter - before he leans an elbow against a doorframe, crossing his legs. "I see you've met the ghost in the kitchen. Wait until you see the skeletons in the closet!"
Kashwolf ran as fast as she could, realizing that Syl was easily able to keep up. She would have bounded into the Manor, but the angle of the stick she was carrying - Syl's quarterstaff - comically slammed against the doorframe and flipped her over. She skid along the floor into the manor and hit the bar counter, causing her to immediately transform out of dire wolf form.
With a loud "OUF!!"she sprawled against the counter, on the floor. She looked around, rubbing her head, muttering, "Hey, how did I get here?"Then, she saw the others, her smile returned immediately. "Oh, hi guys! Hi Lif! Oh! Did you guys meet Lif?" she asked Avys and Bruvir. "He's our new butler or something."
She looked outside and gasped very loudly. "Look! When did all these trees and plants grow!?"
Though not entirely convinced, Bruvir relented and lowered his hammer, "Alright but I'll be keeping my eye on you spirit until you can be proven trustworthy." He had been tricked once before and as long he continued to breathe, he would not be tricked again.
With the others slowly returning to the manor, he turned to them and said gruffly, "It seems you've made a deal with those druids." noting the new foliage outside. "So far, the neighbors we've meet have been borderline useless, especially that ad salesman."
"Ermagerd!"Kasha breathed. "The plants and trees are so lovely!"
She reached into her shirt and pulled out a small sack of coin on the nearest table, about a hundred and twenty five dragons. It would be enough to buy food and dishes for at least two weeks.
"I don't need this."she said, still looking at the trees, like a child wanted to go outside and play.
Lif took the paper and pencil and wrote, "Are you and Avys going to be out today, perhaps doing good for one of the Factions? If so, can I have someone pick up some food and supplies?"
Avys will turn to the returning group, "welcome back, glad your safe. As Bruvir stated, we stopped by a few shops and the detective especially seemed rather unhelpful... at least for now. If anyone is interested in reading though, the librarian has a rather large selection. Bruvir and I were thinking about going to some of the other factions if anyone would like to join. We both Agreed on those gauntlet folk, though I would like to see the Harpers and Bruvir the Zhents." he waves as the group returned and he gestures over the Feliara to come to him for a moment. He'll pull her aside briefly and hand her the spell book, he'll whisper to her, "We can get approximately 25 dragons for this, but since you're interested in magic, I wanted you to have some time with it before it's sale. I trust your judgement, but if you want to keep it, feel free to return it to the library." he'll awkwardly smirk a bit before reading the note that Lif wrote down and nodding, having Iago grasp the note and showing it to the rest of the group as the homunculus floats from person to person.
Naumick trails in last, not running as fast or hard as the other two. The dwarf grumbles as he sees the rest, stepping past them all and making his way to the bar where he pours himself a drink. Making his way back to the group, reading the note, he frowns. "A grocery run?" he grumbles. "Great...I think I'd rather help one of the factions."

"If only wine grew on trees..," Syl mutters to himself, rewrapping the bandages around his wrists and dusting off all the scarecrow stuffing still clinging to his clothes. He was secretly glad that he joined the mission for the Enclave. Kasha seems to be enjoying the foliage, and who knows what would have happened if he wasn't there to beat the life out of those scarecrows? He shifts towards the rest of the group, leaning backwards on his staff. "Another faction? I don't really care, but those gauntlet folks are probably too stuck up to enjoy a good ale. I'll come along if you're in need of someone else, though," he offers with a wink. "I don't mind going on a grocery run, sure - I can probably run quicker than anyone here - but I don't trust myself to go alone, unless you want a fine selection of the nearest brewery's stock."
Regardless, Avys's words inspire Sylivar to come up with an idea. Sylivar momentarily slinks away to purchase a series of beginner's books from the Book Wyrm's Treasure. He drops his carefree, bumbling demeanor when the door closes as he fusses over a selection of books in the children's aisle. His eyes scour the shelves, searching for something. Wondering why he was spending so long on a decision of what book to get, he purchases a progressing collection of coloring and informative books that begin with a child's collection of fill-in-the-blank farm animals before eventually ranging to the fantastical beasts that populate the realm. Perhaps Kasha would be interested in something more close to home. Small blurbs of text that begin with pronunciations of each syllable in correspondence to letters and move on to full stories and legends of dragons and celestials. Syl hikes the pack of books on his shoulder, rolls some coins towards the keeper of the books, and winks. "I'm sure most people who come here are more advanced than these books. I'm not a big reader." Afterwards, Syl quickly exits and strides back towards the house, resuming his usual, shit-eating grin and sway in step. Grocery duty. Urgh.
GROCERIES Fruits, vegetables, silverware, flour, yeast, mugs, ale, bread, meats, dishes, oh, do you take coupons? Wait, isn't this on sale? What do you mean you don't have change. Hey, there's a worm in this apple. Did someone use this fork? What are you trying to pull? Made in China - what the? With the money you made from the Enclave, those who wish to do so, including Kasha, return home with plenty of food and equipment for the basics.
GAUNTLET The Halls of Justice, a temple of Tyr located west of the Market in the Castle Ward, is an impressive building. When you enter and express interest, the Order asks that you be sworn in before they give you any information about what services they need fulfilled. They do, however, explain that the swearing-in ceremony involves the recitation of the oath to find and destroy evil in all its forms. The oath is spoken while every candidate wears a silver gauntlet (a symbol of the order). Unless you formally join, they will not reveal any more information.
HARPERS You all remember the note you got from the Harpers - an invitation that read: “Renaer tells us you are a good bet. He bought you tickets to the opera tonight at the Lightsinger Theater in the Sea Ward. If you are interested, meet Mirt at intermission. Private Box C. Formal attire is required for admittance.” Enclosed are tickets for the entire party to The Fall of Tiamat, an opera sung in Giant describing the evil dragon queen’s defeat at the Well of Dragons. In order to see what the Harpers want, you'd have to purchase a set of formal clothing and attend the opera at the Lightsinger.
ZHENTS A flying snake delivered this message a few days ago: “Want to be part of something big? Speak to Davil Starsong at the Yawning Portal.” When you head to the Yawning, Yagra the huge orc female greets you all and leads you to a table in the center of the Yawning Portal’s taproom, where her boss, Davil, waits with drink in hand. Davil is a retired adventurer. He and his adventuring companions joined the Zhentarim a few years back. They help people in need. Another Black Network gang has recently infiltrated the city and tried to take over the Xanathar Guild. They failed, setting off a war in the streets. Davil and his colleagues want to end the violence and restore the peace. Your missions would mostly involve these activities, but no more details are given unless you join.

With the money you made from the Enclave, those who wish to do so, including Kasha, return home with plenty of food and equipment for the basics.
GAUNTLET
The Halls of Justice, a temple of Tyr located west of the Market in the Castle Ward, is an impressive building.
HARPERS
You all remember the note you got from the Harpers - an invitation that read: “Renaer tells us you are a good bet.
ZHENTS
A flying snake delivered this message a few days ago: “Want to be part of something big?
