"Ha!" replies the goblin with scorn. "Why don't you leave and we won't cut you into little tiny pieces!" She brandishes her scimitar.

Bramble hears the voices intensify inside but will still only enter if he has a reasonable chance of seeing something.

Essie blinks at the small figures. She's never seen a goblin before. But she has seen those kinds of weapons, so she braces herself for a fight.

"Hah! Battle!" Stigandr hoists his maul and laughs loudly.

Helena initiative 3 (rolled in game log.)

(Ryndar was ready to attack if the goblins became aggressive. I think he can use his reaction to do so, if he felt the goblin’s words justified it. Then we’ll jump into Round 1: Essie and Stigandr are first in the initiative order, followed by the goblins who seem ready to rush out into the room. Then it will be Ryndar, Bramble, Daerthe, and Helena.)

At the goblin's taunt, Ryndar releases an arrow aiming for the goblin who spoke. "So be it."

Reaction Attack: 16 Damage: 6

He follows up quickly, drawing another arrow smoothly, he endless hours of training kicking in. 

Round 1 Attack: 13 Damage: 11

Ryndar's first arrow buries itself deep in the goblin's chest. Her eyes go wide in surprise as she falls back, dead. The other goblin lets out a shriek.

Stigandr barrels through the dead female goblin into the one behind her. He brings his maul around, attempting to bash the goblin.

 ((10 to hit, 7 damage. Didn't declare rage))

"Well, that was rude," Essie mutters under her breath toward the goblins. A small frown on her face, she extends her hand and utters a simple incantation in Celestial. Casting Sacred Flame on the second goblin she can see.

DEX Saving Throw: DC 14

Damage: 3 

Essie crosses the room to get a better view of the second goblin who stands directly behind his fallen companion. As a column of radiant flames falls on him, he attempts to dodge out of the way.

Dex save: 5

The goblin successfully evades Essie's attack. Stigandr rushes at him, but in the darkness of the room, can't connect with his maul. The goblin squeaks again, uses their bonus action to disengage, scampers into the belltower, and disappears as the bell begins to clang once more.

(Assuming you may want to go after the goblin, this map shows the small room that is beyond the door on the west wall. It appears to be a bedroom that is in disarray. There is another door to the west that likely leads to the belltower.)

If it survives until her turn, Daerthe will continue to move ahead, staying hidden as she does so. If the goblin is within range of her bow she will fire a warning shot. "Stop moving unless you want the next one to find your heart..."

Intimidation: 7

(Ryndar, you planned on using this turn to attack again, but the other goblin has fled. 30 feet of movement would get you just into the bedroom where you still will not be able to see him. Bramble, are you still waiting on Helena to bring some light into the building?)

"Cowards..." Ryndar sighs, "All talk." Turning back to the group, "Well, surprise is gone. Come on in, stay close."

Ryndar moves forward 30ft trying to understand where the goblin may have run.

Bramble will be giving Helena non-verbal cues that he will bring up the rear, if she decides to enter. Otherwise, his feet and shield are facing away from the chapel, on guard from anything that might approach.

As the goblins have fled further inside, and there is no use in being stealthy any longer, Helena would head in with her glowing stone in-hand. She would do a double-move, right up to the door the goblin went through, if that is possible. Taking the Dash action.)
