As the others seem to be searching this floor, Helena stays back, watching over them as they do so. "We should clear the second floor once we are done down here." She says.
Essie nods at Helena. "That's a good idea," she says. "There were two goblins I saw coming in here earlier. So there's at least one other to keep an eye out for." She moves toward the door on the north wall. If no one attempts to stop her, she'll open the door slowly and peer around.
Daerthe sticks to the shadows and searches for signs of more goblins. She sees the stairs that are in the middle of the building, on the northeast side of the dining room. The door on the north end of the dining room is slightly ajar and appears to lead to a kitchen. She doesn't see any movement or hear any noises.
Checking the dead goblin, Ryndar notes that the body is still warm. The blood that pools below seems relatively fresh. If he was going to make a guess, he would say that this goblin was killed sometime in the last hour or two. He observes that this goblin was armed with a short bow and scimitar, much like the others they encountered.
Stigandr notices that amongst the rubble of the ruined dining table, there are also broken pieces of a bed and wardrobe. The boulder caused damage to the room above as it smashed through the building.
Essie approaches the door to the kitchen and looks around carefully. The room is a mess. Another boulder hit the northwest corner of the inn, destroying what was likely the pantry. It left an opening in the wall through which Essie can see the north wall of the village just beyond a small graveyard. The kitchen itself did not seem to take damage from the boulder. However, various items seem to be thrown about from some other cause: utensils, broken dishes, a frying pan, and an iron pot. Perhaps a goblin was scavenging in here earlier, but there isn’t any sign of them now.

Bramble will be hanging back with Helena as others are investigating. Knowing how goblins like to hide, he suspects there’s a very spooked and out-numbered goblin somewhere nearby that is in a near panic. He will call out in goblin speech,
”Shuulkaan or kekhaan okaan. Daan druuc’d dac duun mor o.”
“Come out little one. We don’t want to hurt you.”
Then in Common, he will tell the party, “I’ve asked the survivor to reveal themselves. Don’t attack except in self defense, please.”
Dahlia draws her rapier and moves to stand with Ryndar, keeping silent as her eyes dart about around them. She pauses at what Bramble says, reluctantly nodding as she once more tries to figure out why they seem to want to spare goblins of all things.
Essie is going to stay put down on the first floor. She stands at the bottom of the stairs, keeping an eye out on the rest of her companions' backs. "I've noticed I'm a little sturdier than most of us," she tells them, tapping her fingers against her scaled armor. "So I'll stay here and make sure nothing tries to come up from behind us. If- If that's alright with the rest of you?"
As Ryndar collects the goblin’s 8 arrows and her chipped and slightly rusty scimitar, he notices a pouch with 1 pieces of copper. Meanwhile, Bramble calls out in Goblin. Everyone holds still after Bramble explains his words, listening for any response. All is quiet. After a few moments, Ryndar and Daerthe head up the stairs, Helena and Stigandr not far behind. Perhaps Bramble follows. Essie stands guard at the bottom of the stairs, looking out for possible danger from that direction. (Essie, please roll Perception.)
Upstairs, you find a dark, windowless hall that divides the inn. There appear to be two rooms on the north side of the inn (above the kitchen) and two on the south side (above the dining room). The doors are closed and all seems quiet. You imagine that the rooms to the northwest and southeast are probably heavily damaged, having seen the effects of the boulders from below.

Bramble will be the last one up the stairs, leaving Essie at the landing. As he ascends he will turn back and view the lower room from this higher vantage point. He will pay extra attention to the areas of rubble and destruction where he believes a goblin could be hiding. He looks for signs of life/movement.
Perception: 23
If there’s really nothing to see, he will continue upstairs and join everyone else.
Fidgeting with her shield, Essie keeps her eyes moving from the various holes in the walls, to the door, to the kitchen door, and back. She murmurs a quiet prayer for the dead goblin under her breath in Celestial as she stands guard, her fingers twirling around her holy symbol.
As Bramble pauses to take one last look around, he doesn’t see any movement in the rubble and broken furniture. However, he does see that the light from the eastern window is shining through newly falling dust motes. A moment before, the air was completely clear. Now something or someone has caused bits of dust and dirt to fall from the hole in the ceiling. At the same time, Essie is watching all possible entrances when she hears the slight sound of movement from the floor above. Could that be the elf or the drow? Already up in one of the bedrooms? It didn’t seem like they had time to get beyond the top of the stairs...

Ryndar silently approaches and opens the door to the room in the northeast corner. The morning sun shines through the window, lighting up an undamaged guest room with two beds, a wardrobe, and a desk with an oil lamp and chair. Another small lamp sits on a small table between the beds. A bear rug lies upon the floor. There is no movement or sound from this room. He thinks he may have heard a small clunking sound from...the hallway? Or another room, maybe? Was that the drow being clumsy? Or someone else?

Watching Ryndar sneak carefully down the hall to the northeast room and Daerthe stand still listening, Helena shrugs a little and opens the closest door to the top of the steps. This is the one that leads to the room in the northwest corner of the inn. The room within was damaged heavily by the boulder that passed through into the pantry below. The roof is open and there is a huge hole in the northern half of the floor. Whatever furniture had been within seems to have been smashed and carried down by the same boulder. The southern side of the floor is intact for about ten feet before the destruction begins. A tapestry with a mountain scene upon it hangs on the eastern wall and a wooden chest with an iron lock and hardware is tucked into the southwest corner of the room, just under the window.
Stigandr wanders around the inn in silence, trying hard to find anything of import.

"This one was killed recently. Still warm. I'm more worried about whatever may have killed this one. I didn't notice any with crossbows last night."
Ryndar will take the goblin's scimitar and any arrows they still have.
"I agree, we should check the upstairs before leaving." He makes his way to the bottom of the steps, waiting for the rest of the group.
