"What are these vile abominations, a mockery of nature itself, this must end." Selene swiftly curses the closest plant-creature and attacks it with fey magic.
Raadox draws one blade and moves up alongside Kiori. He begins to hum a melancholy tune and his feet move in step. His blade flashes in against the tree-creature.
Bonus action: Start Bladesong (2nd and final of the day) Movement: enter melee range Action: Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Raadox is able to lop the arms off the creature while Selene blasts a hole in it. As it falls, Daerryl's arrow sticks the creature to the tree. The forest is quiet and unsettling as you look around the trail.
Selene comes back to the others from behind the tree, brushing of her now rather torn attire. "Well those creatures should explain the cattle killings at least, and I would be surprised if they don´t have something to do with that tree and those fruits. Well done everyone, those needles would have been the last of me." looking at a shredded shrubbery where the needles hit. "Let´s hope we don´t run into any more adversaries before that rest. Shall we proceed gentlemen." Selene says ready to continue to the Ol´Boar Inn.
"I wonder if we can pick one up and take it into town," muses Raadox. He goes and examines the body of one. "But, yes," he says to Selene when he has finished his examination. "Let's get back to town. We need the rest."
OOC: What does it look like? Does it still look like a creature now it's dead? How heavy is it? Could we carry it into town?
"A warm meal at the inn would be nice" Kiori agrees. Then looks at the defeated enemies "maybe I can drag one back to town, but my rope is still binding those goblins we fought. Do you have some?"
(It looks like a tree that came to life covered in needles. Very much so a plant.)
You are able to return to town carrying the creature. The inn is empty but the inn keep is there and able to offer you room. Take a long rest and feel free to interact or try to talk to anyone or find stuff in town.
"Ahh, finally, civilization." Selene is quite relieved as she enters the Ol´Boar Inn. "Innkeeper, your best room please, with a hot bath, and a plate of cheese and bread, and some pears, and a bottle of your best wine thank you very much. Also could you send for your best tailor in the morning, I have some work cut out for him." Selene smiles and sits herself down by the bar.
As she waits for the Innkeeper she informs him of their adventures in the citadel and of the plant creatures which the gentlemen carried here. "So it would be fair to assume that creatures such as this one are responsible for your cattle problem and that they are connected to the fruits the goblins sell you, and the tree the fruits come from. Do you by any chance know what happened to those fruits more precisely?"
"Same for me too, please, innkeeper!" Raadox adds when he hears Selene's long list of requirements. "A bath and a long glass of quality wine sound perfect. I also think some new clothing is in order."
He will settle down and pull out his spellbook, flicking through the pages, reading his notes and relaxing. Whilst doing so he will speak to Daerryl. "Did you collect the coins and treasures we recovered? I think I might like to spend my share..."
Daerryl pulls out the Loot Sack, and you see quite a bit of treasure.
The treasure account: 362s 89g 3 unusual arrows from the skeletons near the entrance
3 gems
1 Potion of healing
studded leather armor,
five daggers,
a longbow,
a backpack (containing a water skin, one day’s rations, a bedroll, a tinderbox, and three torches)
A gold ring on his finger is engraved with the name Ahnold. dragon-shaped, jade figurine (worth 20 gp),
a crystal goblet (5 gp),
and twenty-four pieces of fine silverware (1 gp each). Of particular note is a sealed scroll case carved of bone, carrying an inscription. Runes in the Dwarvish alphabet spell out the word “Khundrukar.” An old parchment is within the case. Age and water damage have destroyed most of it, but a short message in Dwarvish remains: “… the remaining few. By order of Durgeddin the Black, we have created a secret dwarven redoubt. None shall find us; however, …”
Kiori leaves the plant creature corpse outside the inn and follows the others inside. "Something warm for me to eat, and cold beer to accompany it" he says to the inkeeper and goes to sit next to Raadox "so... your amulet is still missing. Do you plan on going back to retreive it?"
