"I have heard of she, who celebrates loss and tragedy,"Brevig says, his voice heavy and ruefully weighed down with sadness from long ago. "I should remember that Light only exists in reference to Darkness, and yet. It is difficult to fathom, and..."his voice trails off, the memory of the events leading to his own fall from semi-divinity afflicting him greatly in this moment. He does not finish the thought, but turns away from the others, takes hold of a door handle, and attempts to open the door. 'No one said this would be easy, paladin,'Brevig thinks to himself.
Let us also remember the invisibility potions Sarani provided to us. Perhaps we haven't been spotted yet and could enter Chorandan "minus" a party member, in case things do become less than friendly.

Brevig pauses in his motions long enough to reply, in an undertone, “Yes. And you, Gwyn, are the best candidate, for in case we are attacked you may remain invisible while supporting our side. Fortunately,” the paladin continues, glancing keenly at Fargoth, “one of us is so skilled that he needs no such assistance to blend into the shadows. As for me: I have already practiced more deception on this quest than I would have wished. My fate and my design is to stand ever in full sight. Let those who watch the Watcher beware.” Brevig then continues with opening the door after Gwyn (or whoever) drinks a potion.
Fargoth glances at the gloom around them, feeling almost trapped by it, and shakes his head as Brevig mentions his name. "You think we can hide in the shadows... from the shadows themselves? I fear any skill I possess in remaining unseen is negated by this place." He gestures to the door, and nods solemnly. "May your light guide our way."
Yes, I quite agree, Gwin nods in assent to Brevig. And given my already short stature it's possible I've been camouflaged from spying eyes. I shall remain invisible until it is no longer prudent for me to do so. As soon as I cast a spell I will be visible so I must choose my moment wisely.
Taking the small flask of Potion of Invisibility Gwin raises it slightly and with a wink whispers, bottoms up. Within a moment the cleric is no longer visible but the party can hear her voice whispering from within their ranks. For now I will keep close to Patrin, but fear not my dragonborn friend, I shall avoid being stepped on by your sizeable feet.
"Well, if it's got any adverse side affects, it's a bit too late. Let's hope we don't have to bury an invisible corpse, that would be a tad difficult. I can modify my armor to magically quiet my steps and reduce its clanking as well, but that will take at least an hour."

Gwin drains the contents of the vial and disappears from view. It seems that Sarani was being truthful about the nature of the potion.
The door to the tower of Chorandan pushes open with relative ease despite its substantial size. The five of you step into a large, oblong entry room that is almost completely devoid of light. Approximately fifty feet ahead of you is an arched opening that leads into the next room. On both sides of the opening are identical statues of ravens, roughly 6' in height. You can discern that some sort of light source exists in the next room, for a faint green glow can be seen through the open archway.
You see nothing else, and you hear only your own breathing.
Map of entry area of Chorandan. Grey ellipses indicate location of raven statues.
Fargoth looks at the others, giving a small nod, before slinking up the right side of the room, stopping at the raven (So the tile containing the SW edge of the raven-blob). He listens, and peers into the room as best as he can to try and give the group some more information.
Fargoth creeps forward, allowing himself an angle to see what might lie in the next room. The source of the eerie light is a humanoid skull perched in a niche in the hexagonal column in the northwest corner of the room. It is wreathed in green flames and has glowing orange eyes. Although Fargothcannot see the southwest corner of the room, he is confident another skull is located there because more green light emanates from that area. These rooms have high ceilings, and the niche that holds the flaming skull is approximately 12' above the floor.
There's no indication that the skull is reacting to Fargoth's--or anyone else's--presence. It seems to be serving only as a dim source of light.
Updated map (forgot to add the markers for the raven statues and I'm assuming the other members of the party have remained near the door):
Brevig strides steadfastly through the doorway and stands tall once within, connecting to Amaunator to sense for positive and negative energy, then turning slowly from right to left and seeing what there is to see, his brow furrowed, the Watcher’s eyes missing no details.
Patrin takes a moment to focus his inner sight, opening himself to mystical emanations, then blends quietly into the shadows as he waits on Fargoth’s report.
Patrin casts Detect Magic using Eldritch Sight, and then uses One with Shadows to blend into invisibility…

From behind him Patrin hears the cleric whisper that she’s going to scope things out. She tries to silently move forward into the first room and sees nothing of note. Emboldened by her invisibility she moves into the room with the skulls, hoping to ascertain what lies within without the use of magic.
Although Gwin cannot be seen by the other members of the party, they hear her footsteps, ever so faintly, moving into the next room. After several seconds have passed, everyone assumes the cleric has avoided setting off an unwelcome chain of events, for no one hears any sounds or detects any movement...

Not seeing anything visible to the naked eye, Gwin decides to try and investigate the skull above her to the right, avoiding stepping into the light emanating from it. Delving back into her years at the temple, she tries to recall any lore regarding them being used in this way.
She then notices another room past the second set of skulls and again attempts to move into it quietly to see if she can detect anything.

The assurance that Gwinhasn't disturbed the silence within Chorandan is short-lived. Everyone hears a distinct metallic clink as the cleric's shield bumps into one of the metal pieces of her scale mail armor. Almost immediately thereafter, the room with the skulls is flooded with bright green light, and the archway into the next portion of Chorandan is filled with a large ball of fire.
Gwin, of course, sees all of this, in addition to the fact that all four skulls launch upward from their resting places and now hover approximately 20' above the ground. Now that she has a closer look at the skulls, Gwin recognizes them as flameskulls.
Donir and Fargoth may act. The skulls will follow.
"Damn!" Donir curses as he rushes forward, placing himself in view of the skulls. As he runs, he points his gauntlet forward, and with four quiet hisses, four small metal balls are fired out of it. With a high-pitched whine, they curve in midair towards the leftmost skull, and moments before impacting burst into brilliant blue balls of force, slamming into the undead creature.
