Fargoth shuts his eyes momentarily as the spell washes over him. He opens them and looks round the group. "Are you satisfied with Patrin's work?" Without waiting for an answer (or as the others talk), he rises to his feet and grabs his bow, also slinging his quiver over a shoulder, and makes to depart the camp.
The wood elf stops and turns back to Patrin, his expression blank. "Harangued, irritated, distrustful, need I go on? Leave me be..." With that, he turns and picks up his previous pace.
When Fargoth is out of earshot, Brevig says to the others, “Enough of this. Patrin, nicely done. Fargoth seems to be back to normal. The accursed may not be aware of their own condition, so Fargoth may have no idea. Let us allow our friend some time to recuperate, and then perhaps one of you can bring up how his voice resonated with a devilish note.” (OOC: I.e., was in red type). “I am content that we need not worry that he will throw away his life needlessly, heeding some demonic instruction from the armor.”
Brevig keeps his distance from Fargoth but, atop Ashento, follows the archer, with the others, to the meeting place with Dinnie.
Gwin shrugs at the party when Fargoth walks away. I think he's better??? I mean, it's difficult to tell whether this is standard Fargoth grumpy or charmed grumpy, but I'm trusting that Patrin's spell did its job. You know what they say, drastic times call for drastic displeasure.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
With the unexpected circumstances surrounding Fargoth seemingly in the past, the five of you make your rendezvous with Dinnie with a day to spare. During the late morning hours of the fourth day since returning from the Shadowfell, you spy the hippogriffs in the distance. Initially nothing more than dark spots against the sky, they slowly increase in size and ten minutes later they land in the clearing near the River Chionthar. Dinnie seems his usual self, and he expresses his relief at seeing all of you healthy and whole.
"The return to Waterdeep shall follow the same pattern, friends," explains the halfling. "The 'griffs will take you to Daggerford. From there, you will, once again, ride within a cargo wagon to Waterdeep. Keeping your return to the Halls of Justice a secret."

There are no manticores to contend with during the flight northward, only poor weather. A few days of wind and rain during the last portion of the airborne journey do a significant job of making things rather miserable for all of you. You arrive in Daggerford tired and wet. Dinnie embraces each of you when he says his farewell. "Life is a strange thing, friends. Maybe we shall take to the skies another time, eh? Here's something to remember me by."
Then, handing each of you a massive hippogriff feather, he says, "Here's something to help you remember me and the 'griffs."

The wagon from Daggerford to Waterdeep (once again driven by Shrug the half-orc and his co-pilot Marza, the she-wolf) contends with mile after mile of muddy roads, adding several hours to the final portion of the journey. Nearly one month ago you departed Radimus Hall, and now you prepare to enter Sarime's home again, having successfully returned with Fearlitrix, the cursed armor of Badrizar Nath.
The sense of relief on Sarime's face is abundantly apparent. "Welcome back," she says with a warm smile. "Merranock and Themius have been sent for. They'll be here soon."

'Interestingly, Sarime, there was some question as to the dangers of bringing all these items together. Who's idea was it to bring them together, rather than destroying them individually...?' asks Patrin, eyes alert to the slightest prevarication...
Gwin receives the hippogriff feather with solemn gratitude and returns the embrace offered. Thank you for all of your help, Dinnie. And to these wonderful creatures for providing us safe transport back.
Once back at Radimus Hall Gwin seats herself by the fire and examines the feather while waiting for Merranock and Themius to arrive.

Sarime nods in response to Patrin's question about gathering all of the five feathers of Gruemar in one place. "The idea is ours. Themius, Merranock, and I wrestled with this decision, but we see no other way. Destroying these items will require yet another enormous task, Patrin, and we cannot ask that task to be done five separate times. No one could bear such a burden more than once. We believe then, that after all five feathers have been retrieved, their power and evil can be undone in one act."
Patrin
You don't detect any deception in Sarime's response.
Fargoth, sitting alongside Gwin and the fire, slowly shakes his head as he leans forward in his chair, staring at his boots. "And destroying them all in one act will not be five times the burden, require five times the power, or five times the conviction? You should attempt to redeem the armour, to test your theories. If it fails, then we attempt to destroy it. If that fails, then we bury it, far from civilization, where it may never see the light of day again."
"I understand your concerns, friends, and I have some of my own as well. However, I trust our superiors to know better than we. Perhaps with closer study and more time I could make my own decision on what course of actions would be best, but the items' curses makes it difficult to do so. Our superiors have much more knowledge on the nature of them than we do, and I believe that whatever they decide should be done with them, should be done."

His prairie-wheat irises glinting in the firelight, Brevig agrees with Donir. “Gathering the items is the first step, which we have all pledged to undertake. As our quest unfolds, any of us could fall under the power of the cursed artifacts. It is best that we do not know too much. But when they are gathered, if I yet live, I would know more about the plan for their destruction.”
Gwin studies Fargoth's face as he says his piece, her brow slightly furrowing with almost imperceptible concern, but says nothing.
For now I believe we need to stay our course and complete the mission we've begun. So what will it be, lads? What grand adventure should we embark on next? I am in favor of The Sphere of K'vari, but as always rely on the wisdom of my faithful companions.

"The Sphere is as good a destination as any other, I will put my vote on that one as well. Additionally, Sarime, I've noticed that keeping the items in an extradimensional space such as my crafted bag of holding helps to suppress their mind-affecting curse. If you have such an item, or something similar, it would be best to hold them in there. Preferably in separate bags, as keeping them together in their cursed state may result in tragedy."

"Patrin," says Brevig, "I am glad you mentioned it. I think we should each supply you with enough gold to enable you to relieve said supplier of a curse. Here is 100gp from my pouch, and I will be glad to accompany you to purchase the dust, if you'll also join me for a pint of ale while we are here in civilization. That goes for the bunch of you, friends. We all deserve a night of relaxation, and I insist that you be my guests! Civilized food and the best ale Waterdeep has to offer."
