Fargoth nods to the others solemnly, a plan formulated. Bow drawn, he rapidly ascends the first flight of stairs, slowing as he approaches the portcullis before the second circular room. He examines its mechanisms briefly, looking for any way it might be made to stay open, preferring not to be trapped on the wrong side of it with a large group of orcs and ogres.
Leaving the others behind to take their positions, Fargoth makes his way up the stairwell that lies between the two circular rooms. A quick glance at the jambs on either side of the gateway reveals that pieces of iron rod have been hammered into the lock mechanisms. The portcullis is, therefore, somewhat permanently locked in the open position. A good deal of time and effort would be needed to remove the iron pieces that hold it in place.
Gwin's chest puffs up a bit when Brevig spins his yarn about the dwarf cleric. Never underestimate a dwarf cleric. We might seem jolly on the outside, but we never shy away from danger when our service is required. And I will gladly impart healing to anyone who needs it. In fact, I think you all could use a little blessing before we start dropping these orcs and ogres like pies. Sprinkling holy water on Fargoth as he passes her, Gwin continues to Bless each party member similarly, while praying under her breath, Tyr be with us all.
Positioning herself behind the others (she's in B, but right near the opening to A in order to maintain her concentration for the spell) Gwin readies her crossbow.

Fargoth reaches the second circular room and pauses. Keeping to the walls, or any available shadows, he stops at the bottom of the second flight of stairs. The elf listens and watches, trying to get any further information from the grumblings of the orcs and their movements before all the Hells broke loose.
Fargoth can hear the orcs--at least three of four of them--engaging in laughter and conversation. A few shadows cast upon the walls at the top of the stairs indicate that some of the orcs are close indeed.
The rogue waits a minute or so until he sees the head and torso of an orc at the top of the stairs...

Fargoth draws his bow and aims for the top of the stairs, waiting for the head of an orc to pass by. When it does, he tracks it for a split second before releasing the first arrow.
As soon as he does so, he creeps back into the shadows, out of sight, and nocks a second arrow.
So lethal is Fargoth's shot that the orc is unable to make even a whisper after being struck. Seemingly frozen in time for a second, the orc remains standing despite being completely dead. Then, slowly, like a massive tree, it topples backward onto the floor. The orc's greataxe makes a resounding clang when it strikes the granite, and a few seconds later a cacophony of yells and snarls makes its way down the stairwell. Not longer after, Fargoth hears the sound of heavy footsteps, for a half-ogre and a few orcs are racing down the stairs.
The elf steels himself, exhales, and reveals himself to the group as he fires a second arrow at a second orc. "Get away!" he cries, before racing back to the top of the stairs, attempting to lose their line of sight to him once more.
Attack: 25 Damage: 31
I'm assuming I was able to hide with my 25 roll last turn, so rolling with advantage again here. Dashing 90ft or so to just below the C.
Fargoth, unseen in the shadows, looses another arrow and fells another orc. As the rogue slinks away, he hears the orc tumbling down the stairs. Posting himself at the top of the east/west stairs, he waits for the next pursuers. A half-ogre and two orcs appear in the small circular room...
(Allowing a surprise round for Fargoth. The other members of the party are too distant to see the oncoming enemies. NOTE: If Donir, Brevig, Patrin, and Gwin are not positioned on the map correctly, now is the time to let me know before the next round)
Fargoth waits, this time for larger quarry. The hulking half-ogre lumbers into view, and he aims for the centre of mass, making sure the ogre knows where its attacker is.
Attack: 28 Damage: 6
The elf lets the arrow fly, before skipping down the stairs to join the others, barely out of breath. "Two orcs and an ogre behind me, possibly more. The portcullis at the top of the stairs shouldn't be easily closed. Take your places, and stay hidden for now."
He turns and stands at the foot of the stairs, arrow nocked and bow drawn, waiting for sight of the enemy once more...

Fargoth hears the familiar sound of an arrow striking flesh; so, he knows he has drawn blood on the half-ogre. The orcs, knowing their quarry lies ahead, cover an incredible amount of ground in their pursuit of Fargoth. In so doing, they leave the half-ogre behind. The five of you, focusing on the enemy rushing recklessly down the stairs, suddenly hear a pounding and grinding in the northern part of the large circular room. A glance in that direction reveals that a hidden door has been opened. Four members of the Hi-Thoror pour into the room--two orcs and two orogs.
Round 1 has begun!
The Hi-Thoror have acted, using their turn solely for movement, including the aggressive bonus action for the orcs and orogs.
All players may act in any order.
Brevig's inspiring leader feat has granted each of you an additional 12 hit points.

As Fargoth passes, Donir points down the corridor and a great bolt of electricity bursts from his finger, lancing down the hall through the Hi-Thoror.
Reaction Lightning Bolt from prepared action: DC 17 Dex or 32 lightning, half on save.
I believe I can hit all orcs in the corridor except for one, if I position myself in the middle.
After letting loose his prepared spell, Donir charges forward, his hand extended like a knife. He plunges it forward, and flame erupts from it, striking any nearby orcs.
Assuming that the two orcs in the front survive, Donir will use green flame blade, hitting the closest one and having the fire leap to the second. If by some miracle it survives, it will have disadvantage to attack anyone but him.
Green Flame Punch: 29 Damage: 9 thunder
Fire damage: 9 fire
If, however, both orcs are killed by the lightning from his prepared action, Donir will strike the half-ogre instead with just two normal attacks.
Attack: 21 Damage: 13 thunder
Attack: 12 Damage: 14 thunder
Finally, he signals for his homunculus to release a blast of energy at the closest living enemy after his onslaught.
Force Strike: 12 Damage: 8 force
(Action economy: Reaction to cast lightning bolt from prepared action, action to either cast green-flame blade or just punch, depending on the results of lightning bolt, and bonus action to command homunculus.)

Hearing the secret door opening, Patrin moves NNW onto the central stone, to where he has a line of sight on the emerging orcs and orogs.
Corruscating bolts of silver and gold light streak from his fingers, slamming into the orcs.
Patrin is casting Eldritch Blast. If he kills the first orc with the first blast, he’ll cast the second at the other orc, otherwise both at the same orc.
(Bless for first attack - 2, Bless for second attack - 1)
Donirmoves to his left and sends a streak of lightning into the midst of the charging orcs. When the dazzling light subsides, three more orcs have fallen. The artificer's magical construct flies forward and strikes the half-ogre with a blast of magical force.
Patrin, standing atop the massive piece of carved grantite, drops another orc with two beams of crackling energy.
Gwin draws closer (see post below) to the fray in the hallway and sends a crossbow bolt into the nearest orc, making sure it's wholly dead.
Brevig, morningstar in one hand and shield in the other, marches forward, hoping to draw the half-ogre to him.
(Orcs 3,4, 5, and 10 have been slain. The half-ogre is wounded. Orcs 7 and 8 are seriously wounded. Fargoth's round 1 action is next. After that, the Hi-Thoror will act to begin round 2)

Quickly, the cleric looses a bolt from her crossbow at the unfortunate creature.

Seeing the new enemies to his right, Fargoth lets fly with an arrow in the direction of the orcs up the stairs (7), and then retreats to the opposite side of the central rock to hide from the orogs.
Attack: 26 Damage: 13
I don't think I have any allies in melee combat yet, so just a normal roll.
Fargoth's arrow drops the badly wounded orc; it tumbles awkwardly down the stairs and falls into a lifeless heap.
Round 1 concludes
In the stairwell, the badly wounded orc (8) makes for a hasty retreat. It passes another half-ogre (3) that is lumbering toward the battle. The first half-ogre (1) accepts Brevig's challenge; The giant strides forward and levels a massive two-handed swing of its greataxe toward the paladin...
Melee attack: 9 | 19 slashing damage, if successful
In the main room, an orc (6) seeks to avenge the death of its clan member by rushing onto the rock formation and swinging its greataxe at Patrin...
1st melee attack: 8 | 13 slashing damage, if successful
2nd melee attack: 18 | 5 slashing damage, if successful
The orogs rush toward Donir, and three more Hi-Thoror enter the room via the secret passageway.

Ignoring the orc attacking him for now, Patrin instead calls forth the divine fire that simmers at the heart of his being. It pours over those just entered through the secret door, unleashing a torrent of divine fire, which sears into them in eddies of crimson fire and golden light...
DEX 17 ST to take half damage. 13 fire damage and 16 radiant damage. The half-ogre takes an additional 5 radiant damage (due to Patrin's Radiant Soul).
