By combining some of the smaller square parts you discover a makeshift lantern/signal light. (mechanically it is a bullseye lantern... but can be activated and deactivated to send signals, similar to a Morse code.)

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Hmm this is interesting, if we need to split up we might be able to use this to signal certain short messages."

The next morning Mignon is up early, "Good morning all! This part of the trail is a little tricky. We have to climb along a cliff face for several hundred feet to avoid using the beach."

"Tempe and myself can fly using magic boots. I can cast the spell Fly for three other people, so five of us could fly at any one time. That would be quicker and safer than climbing I imagine"
(We can do it in two goes, cast fly on 3, then once they have gone across, cast on another 3. So can cover more than 5 overall)
Mignon is a little amazed at this display of magic but quickly takes to the idea as it is much safer than climbing around on the cliffs.
You quickly bypass the obstacle and continue on your way. After several hours of travel you arrive at a small cove. Mignon uncovers a small boat he had hidden here and explains how a short voyage will take you out and around the siege lines. You will end up landing on the other side and can make your way from there.

In the morning Pepin can be seen tinkering with his cloak, after which it changes shape a bit. (Infusion moved from enhanced arcane focus to cloak of the manta ray).
If possible, Pepin would have chosen to swim along the coast, instead of taking the flying way.

(If Pepin swims along the coastline and meets up with the others just past the cliffs that might save a spell slot... since 2 players have boots of flying and an upcast Fly spell cover 3 players... doublecheck just to be sure.)
Pepin emerges from the waves crashing ashore to meet back up with the other 5 flying people who are just landing on the other side of the cliffs.
Mignon goes and uncovers the small boat for the trip out and around the siege lines.
"Things sure get easier when you have access to magic."

Both in boarding and giving the small vessel a quick once over you can determine that is a well used but sturdy boat. It has oars and one sail that is sometimes used.

"It's only about a quarter mile along the coast, I could probably put in earlier but I don't want to risk detection by the goblins if I can help it."
