(My point is, after you cast your spell you'd be <=150ft, and visible. In range of a literal army of Goblins with bows - and potentially in range of whatever lives inside that tent)
Pepin looks at Tempe and makes a gestures towards their surroundings.
"Do you see any shops around? Also, do we not want to know what is in the tents before we (try) to burn them?"
((On another note that could be used to put fire to the tents: Could Pepin put his flamethrower cannon on his shoulder and use his bonus action to fire it without removing his invisibility? (Or/and would Pepin know if that would be possible might be the better question:P))

It says you have to create it in an unoccupied space... but if it has legs it can walk or climb up to 15 feet. So you can have it perched/mounted on someone's shoulder, I guess. Either way it is not casting a spell or making an attack roll so does not dispel invisibility.

( Ok. Sounds like a solution: Pepin creates and gives the Eldritch Cannon to someone (maybe even perch it on his own shoulder? Pepin needs to be <60ft to trigger, so might be easiest). Then Petcan casts invisibility [and if necessary, Z casts Fly]. Then, Pepin flies above the tents, and invisibly triggers the eldritch cannot to set fire to all tents, before coming back to us as quickly as possible and while still invisible. Once all fires are set, we sit and wait in the riverbed while Irraxan observed from high above. Did I get that right?)
You are setting fire to all the tents in one of the big camps?
or...
One at a time, just the black tents... which means one at a time with some time in between as each of the large camps are a distance from each other?

While the Goblins are their enemies, Z wouldn't really be comfortable with trying to burn all of them in their beds. The sewers were different as they were actively attacking and would have killed innocent townspeople if they had got it.
Ifit's possible that they might just leave on their own accord if we deal with the black tent inhabitants, we should try that avenue first)

The black tent burns away revealing only scattered bones and bits of gore. Goblins begin screaming and running to and fro in a panic.
If you continue on to burn another black tent roll a d6.
This time hope you don't get a 5 or 6.

When this black tent burns it reveals the same as the other one, empty except for the grisly remains of goblins.
You can hear the screams dying down from the large camp where the first black tent was burnt down as it's replaced by goblin leaders yelling orders.
Roll 1d8 and pray it isn't 5 to 8.
(only doing this to determine randomly how many tents have to burn)

Petcan is hurtling through the sky, accomplishing his task as quickly as he can
(I'll be marking off fireballs and invisibility as I go)
(( Wait, we now doing the fireball invis thing? I thought we were doing the flamethrower on Pepin's shoulder plan; Or on Petcan's shoulder that Pepin remains close by. But that saves a lot of spell slots either way^^; only one invis needed for 1 or 2 people))

By doing it with fireballs, I can be 120 feet away (further, but it's the limit of my darkvision). By doing it with the flamethrower, you and I would have to be really close and in serious danger from an occupant if they see through the invisibility. 120 feet gets a body out of range of a lot of problems.
So to clarify only Petcan is invisible and flying and dropping fireballs? And Irraxan is scouting nearby?
The rest of the party is awaiting the outcome in the dry riverbed?

60 feet of darkvision for goblins.
Point taken about whatever is in the tent. I just think this is a much more expeditious way of getting it done.

Just want to make sure I got this right.

(Yep, that's my understanding of the situation.
Irraxan can communicate telepathically at any distance with Z and even share senses. So the rest of the party can get live updates at least )
