"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Speaking with Skrud intently for about a minute, Randall tells the goblin that he must promise to not betray Brother Randall or his friends, impressing upon the creature that if he does in fact prove false, Lathander will know and smite him mightily.
After Randall's spell Tempe gives Skrud a days worth of rations "Tell me Skrud, what caused you and your tribe to become part of such an army? Didn't your leader have his own goals? When did it happen? Did you ever see Clump or King Moocus with a stranger?"
Pepin is fine with Skrud joining, happy they didn't torture him.
"Let's get a bit farther away from the camp to be sure no one sees us, and than make a plan of how to go to the big camp."

He squints one of his eyes for a brief moment and then adds, "Maybe there are strangers in the black tent?"

If we pick our four worst people at hiding, I can cast invisibility on them. Combined with pass without trace, we should be okay to sneak through the camp, but... It's still a biiig camp. Maybe best to leave this to Irraxan? Or fly in, fireball the black tent and see what comes out?
"We can definitely use Irraxan to scout for the biggest camp, and then to scout for a black tent. But the rest we will have to do ourselves.
I suggest we sneak as close as we can. Once we get close enough, we could approach invisibly by air for the last part to avoid having to battle our way through a large army camp! I can cast Fly on three of us who cannot already use magic items to fly (Randall, Pepin, Petcan). We would then use the Dust of Disappearance to make all of us invisible. That should allow us to reach the Black Tent. I'm afraid Skrud might need to stay behind unless one of us can carry him while flying."
Having come to this plan, Z decides it's best not to lose much time and sends out Irraxan to fly around and scout for the biggest camp and the tent.
(Skrud is a goblin and belongs to this Goblin Horde, he probably won't raise an alarm.)
"Skrud not want go to black tent! Not want new friends go to black tent either!"
Skrud frowns and looks very sad.
"Why new friends want to die?"

Irraxan flies off invisibly and immediately spots 4 large camps in the distance, they are spaced far apart from each other, and all 4 have a large black tent.

Tempe smiles a toothy grin. The element of his red dragon heritage is shown. "May be a Shell game. Tents can burn correct? Oil and fire to burn one to see what is inside. Start with the furthest away."
"It might not be a shell game ... Perhaps whatever is eating the Goblins has eaten enough to multiply itself." At the thought of this, Z shudders a little

(Are you suggesting we literally just drop burning oil from the sky? Might work. Certain would be interesting to observe the outcome)
Petcan shrugs. "Why bother? I can put a fireball on every one of them."
"Yes, but ... If you cast spells, you will be visible - even if we initially turn you invisible for your approach. Dropping oil and a torch, or alchemist's fire can be done without revealing ourselves.
And we could even send Irraxan, who can return to us through his pocket dimension - which is both quick, and which means he cannot be traced back"
(My point is, after you cast your spell you'd be <=150ft, and visible. In range of a literal army of Goblins with bows - and potentially in range of whatever lives inside that tent. Whereas we can drop stuff from any height)
