Second Investigation: 13

You find a trident leaning against one of the shacks. Would you like to check the shack?

Cassandra will cautiously  go into the shack, sword drawn.

Ceesh and Cassandra find just a normal living quarters, a bronze stove, a bed, a table, and a drawer with some moldy clothes and 5 GP inside.

Uther notices a stream trickling past the settlement and into the sea. He also sees a patch of dirt that appears to have been disturbed some years ago.

We take the gold and the Trident,  we investigate the patch of disturbed earth.  Maybe a grave? Or a place where treasure was buried.

Cassandra will ritual cast detect magic and search around the camp and the hole while the crew digs.

(I assume we have some shovels aboard the Temptress)

You do have a shovel. There is no magic to be detected.

On we dig.  

Cassandra says “come on mates, put yer back into it!”   She looks around the huts some more and keeps watch for any ambushes.  “Hopin it’s something more interestin than a body!” She says of the hole.

You dig up a small, wooden chest that is beginning to rot.

"Well Cass, ye were right about it being better than a body. Let's open er up!"

“Inspect it and open it mates!”

Either pick the lock, or roll to hit the box to break it open.
