"Was that a hint of rhyme I heard, Ed, you poet?" Sezsu asks as he mentally pats himself on the back for disposing of the (blue) zombie. He turns to see how the others are faring.
"...Ed?..."
His jaw drops at seeing Ed's current state. Trying to recover quickly, he clears his throat, hoping nobody noticed as he sends his mace to the rope line to help keep the monsters back.

Zied's vision still fuzzy from the cold claw to the skull, trying to fend off what he was fighting, hears through fuzzy ears Ed's shout something about light, before that is all he sees. The burst of light blinding and scalding him, causing him to stumble and hit the wall next to him for a moment. HIs eyes squinting open in time to see his adversary crumble and fade-and a new crawling horror to arrive, just as Ed strikes firm and hard into the creature betwix them.
"Whatever you're doing Ed don't stop!" he gives a shout, searing in some pain but pushing through, he leaps upon the larger zombie, shoving his forearm against its sorry excuse for a neck, pinning a claw with his knee and hand. Attempting to hold it on the floor, against the searing light.

As the claw rakes across Ed's leg he tuts at the zombie, "You mindless wretch, enjoy an eternity of peaceful rest." The voice has a hollowness to it that was not there moments before, though he swings the blade in the same efficient manner, trying to depacitate the crawling body. The blade sinks deep, and the creature gurgles something incomprehensible, but "lives" on. Ed's radiance continues to slowly burn all around him, though none fall. ((All undead, Ed, Sezsu, and Zied take 2 radiant damage)).
There was only one more thing Alessa could do now - to curse the cursed. And she did, focusing on the most injured (orange). The creature is enveloped in fire and a hazy, purple cloud of energy that eats away at its remaining flesh and bones. Somehow, it lingers on...

Finally! It seems no more attackers were coming at least from that side (at least for now) and Alessa turned around, shielding her eyes from the blindingly bright light coming from Edlanar. You find yourselves panting, adrenaline pumping. Ed and Zied are coated in gore. Zied in particular is a mess, as the odd maggot drips off of him from the crevices in his clothes. It will take a special soap to remove the stink of rot. After a few moments, your heartbeats cease their pounding in your ears, and you're able to take a breath. Ismark, paler than usual and coated in a sheen of sweat, drops his crossbow. He opens his mouth to speak...
...and says nothing, for there comes a knocking on the door.
Ismark looks to you, bewildered, silently asking What should I do?
Panting heavily and shaking gunk off best he can, falling against the wall and sitting, breathing deeply and talking to himself lightly. "Won't die. She needs me." repeated quietly for a moment. Before the knocking draws him, looking at Ismark in kind-then to the others. He pushes himself up, walk-falling forward and snagging both daggers again. Taking a deep breath. Then whispering to the others. "Think its the villagers? This was an unusual time for attack... They mostly came at night before... Or it might be what sent them..." Shaking off the last magot and smearing his own blood acrooss his brow to divert away from his eyes.
"Should ...I quietly look?" Zied asks the group, gesturing to the large window above the stairlanding-from which the front door lays.

"Yes! Look first!" Whoever it was outside the visitor could not possibly hear the group, still, Alessa was whispering her hasty response. It was not (by far!) the first fight the group had in their already adventurous life, but the ominous atmosphere, ominous signs of all kinds, ominous everything (!) - it was getting on her nerve making her jumpy and overcautious. She could not shake off the thought that outside is indeed "what sent them" and could not decide what is worse - to guess that name correctly or to find out, that there are more powers here, capable of such horrors.
Knock knock knock. The knocking comes from the front door. Persistent, assertive, the person (or thing) on the other side seems to have little patience for the minutiae impeding those inside from offering an immediate response. Even a zombie attack.
Knock knock knock. Zied creeps to a window, but his view is obstructed by the extension of the roof, as well as the covered porch at the mansion’s front. Beyond, only the mist, which seems as though a heavy, gray cloud has descended from the sky to consume the house in its chilling embrace. Alessa holds her breath, waiting.
Knock knock knock.
There is a pause.
And then… then… a voice. A voice from nowhere, and from everywhere at once. A voice from out of time, as though a solitary traveler suffering through the lonely road of ages. A voice laden with a life of its own, its texture and timbre pulsing with the beat of an unseen heart. The sound seems itself a stranger to a new and unknown land, full of apprehension, but also...expectation.
"Tatyana, my love.”
“Welcome home. I understand that you may be frightened, but I assure you, you have nothing to fear. I have come now only to offer you my hand in marriage. I shall not expect your answer now. I shall be sure to return for you. I shall always return for you, my love. My beloved."
When the silence returned, Alessandra's face colours could rival Ismarks, or even the grey shadows they met this morning. Not from the fright (though she was afraid), not even from anger (though it was there too). But the whole mix of feelings was so overwhelming she could not even speak for a few moments, just staring silently and motionlessly at the barred window with widened eyes. Finally, the anger won and with it returned the ability to think and talk. She shook her head. "Who... was it? Was he addressing me?"Her rational side refused to believe it, while the strange familiarity of the very sound of that voice, the nostalgic feeling it evoked - it all screamed she was the target. Alessa shook her head again. No, there had to be another explanation! "Why would he come here searching for some Tatiana, Ismark? Do you know someone by that name?"

Sezsu finally allows himself to breathe again.
"Wha...? Who's Tatyana and why's that guy looking for her here? And for the love of all things holy, can you turn down the lightshow, Ed??" He blinks hard as he tries to clear the afterimage burned into his retinas. "Ismark, old boy, I think you may know more about this than you've let on. We can't help you if you don't give us the information we need."
Glancing around the group he sees the blood and gore covering Zied. "You took a few solid ones, didn't you? Let's see if we can't get you patched up a bit. Everyone else feeling ok?"
Crawling back from near the window, under his rope and over corpses back to the party. Zied simply reports, "I could not see due to the roof. I saw no tracks, nor anyone leaving... Who is Tatyana? Supernatural Stalker.... Ismark what was your mother's name?" inquires Zied. "Might be waiting for a door answer-may have left. I don't know."
Sloffing off more gore, pulling some supplies and beginning to clean his wounds, while glancing ever at the window, unaware if one waits or not. Thank you Seszu. Indeed. One of the ghouls caught my neck, and Ed's radiance burned. but was appreciated and effective."
Alessa almost smiled, even if nervously. Of course! The simplest and most logical explanation! Undead haunting the house. Not the most common thing but not something unheard of either. Probably - most likely even - the death of Ismark's mother was not of a natural cause and this is the result. She was looking at Ismark now with a hopeful plea in her eyes, waiting for confirmation rather than an answer.
Ismark is visibly trembling. "I-I do not know! I know no one by this name, Tatyana. My mother? Her name was S-Sorina. She died years ago, when I was a boy. F-from a plague. She is...was buried in the graveyard." A look of dismayed realization claims his face. He leans agains the wall and slides to the floor. His legs knock aside his crossbow and the remains of a body. "By the Morninglord, that was... that was... the devil!"
An disquieting silence settles over the house, as though even it is afraid to move.
