Each of the girls' beds has small runes carved into a bedpost in a savage, cruel script. From your studies, you recognize the script to be Infernal.
Sezsu:
Four of the beds, those that are neatly made, have small runes carved into a bedpost in a savage, cruel script. From your studies, you recognize the script to be Infernal. The fifth, unmade bed has no such marks.

Sezsu moves on to the next room (working clockwise), mentally noting that the 5th bed's occupant is likely either out and up to no good or hiding as he would be at that age if a bunch of strangers were walking around his house at night.
The next door (southwest) opens into another bedroom. Here four beds each hold a sleeping girl. You note the presence of a similar rune carved into a bedpost of each of these beds...
One of the girl begins to wail softly, apparently stuck in a nightmare.
The next room contains three beds. A windowsill holds a quartet of small figurines assembled from twigs. The sleepers in this room are older boys. Each bed has a post carved with the strange runes.
The next bedroom is crammed with cots, leaving little room for other furnishings. Toddlers fill up these cot. A few dolls lay on the beds. One bedpost on each bed contains a rune.
The door to the northern room is closed but unlocked. This is a nursery containing three cribs, a chest of drawers, and an old stuffed chair. Three babies sleep peacefully in the cribs.
Alessa was moving on her side of the hall to eventually meet Sezsu. The runes were noted and now, when she knew what to look for, it was the first fist thing she paid attention to. Once she met Sezsu, she would point at the rune (silently, only to check if he noticed the carvings as well) and then nodded towards the exit.
(Alessa should still have her Detect Magic active. Are the runes magical?)
Sezsu meets Alessa's eyes and slightly raises an eyebrow before nodding. He almost imperceptibly jerks his head toward the first room he checked (southeast).
Once they're back out of the room he very quietly murmurs to the group, "One child is out of bed and I didn't see any runes on their bedposts. I wonder if it could be our Felix. Should we check the room or look to some other dark corner of the building?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sezsu quietly whispers a prayer to Selune to guide his footsteps and carefully picks his way back to the southeast room. He looks under and around the bed. He checks in and around any closets and furniture, looking for the missing child. Trying to remain as silent as possible to avoid waking the other kids.
(Is there any child sleeping restlessly with an obvious nightmare? If there is one, Alessa will try to remove the rune from that child's bed (Prestidigitation or simply scrap with a dagger) and check if that action made the child quieter.)
Zied notes as he listened a bit longer , the others scurrying and shifting around. Shrugging to himself, he'll push open the latched hatch gently. He then uses his polished clockwork watch's cover to help him peek gently through a smaller opening than he could get his eye to.
Note: Zied is not putting the watch cover very close to the opening, just using it from midish way. He will not risk something damaging or trying to take his precious memento. But it is silver backed and refelcts better than an old knife.

As the crew fans out among the rooms in their investigation, Regmiir remains steadfast in the hallway. Not wanting anyone to be caught surprised, nor wanting himself to be too far from the others, he felt this would be the most tactical option for ensuring their safety.
Wanting to contribute a bit more to the investigation, he thinks to check this area similar to the outdoors. Bending down to look at the floorboards closely, Reg tries to see if the foot traffic seems reasonable for a hallway full of humanoid orphans. Any signs of odd scratches, marks, or damage, could be good indicators of something unnatural prowling between the rooms of the building.
Regmiir looks to see if there are any leftover marks, trails, or indicators in the hallway of something unnatural passing through the area: Survival 4
Ed stays with Regmir in the hallway. He was not a fan of snooping through rooms, no matter how well intentioned the act was, and a second body in the hall meant eyes in both directions, and cover both sides of a door, should those entering need to beat a hasty retreat.
