She looks at her armor briefly, the batttered and patched- up scalemail that was so new and shiny just recently, and thinks about everything else that has changed in that time. ‘ Certainly offering to give strangers a tour of waterdeep is not something I would have done before these adventures!’ She thinks- it’s my companions rubbing off on me.
Adrik says, "The Blew You? Err...That sounds like an interesting place, long as the drink is cold, the food is hot and there's plenty of it! Where do we find it?"
"And I'll say you could use some new armor, he he!! Looks like you drug it through an entire army full o' dirty ogres!"
Eileena says, "That sounds wonderfu, Arisal! Thank you for the recommendation. And I wouldn't mind a small tour of the city, if you don't mind, after all they call it the City of Splendors, right? It would be great to see some of these splendors, since we've never been here before."
Meanwhile, Devyn seems lost in the view of the surroundings, as he looks all around, marveling at the sights of the city.
“Well, if you don’t mind walking with me to the Armory, I will be returning to the Inn after and can show you around on the way.. (and acknowledging the remark on her scale mail’s condition- she says) “ yes my armor has seen a few battles. Time for something a bit better I think”
If they agree to come along, she continues on her current objective, narrating as she goes.
"Good morning. Riatur says your the person to look for if I wanted special leather work done." Belkas pulls back his cloak to reveal the black leather armor with its distinctive spiderweb engravings. "I would like to know if it is possible to transform this into studded leather armor without damaging its design too much."
Zyllith narrows her eyes as she just stares at the man silently after receiving his offer. "I reckon yer nice enough, what ye didnae try ta' insult me by offerin' me a lowball price, but I feel as if yer still underestimatin' me a touch. I know I can get a might better price then tha', in fact I know I could trade it all in fer closer ta' sixteen hundred dragons. 'ells, if you bought it a tha' price ye'd still be making quite a bit o' extra coin seein' as yer like ta' gussy this loot up 'fore sellin' it fer three time tha' price." She then flashed the man just a brilliant cheerful smile as she added, "Now why don' ye' try again, and make me a real offer?"
( Still trying to haggle with Persuasion - 13 ... better )
The leatherworker looks admiringly at the black, spider web armor and nods.
"Aye, that's a fine lookin' suit. Whoever made that knew what they was doin'. Yea, I can put some studs in that. Take me a few days, but I can get it done. I can do regular steel for 40 dragons, or bronze, which will stand out more... you know, with a slight golden shine. Nice contrast against the black, if that's what you want. Those'll be 50.
"If you can wait a little bit longer, I can get me hands on some adamantine studs. Dead black with a slight shine and hard as can be. Look really sharp and add a little bit o' extra protection. That'll cost you 500 dragons."
The shopkeeper answers in a polite, but tight tone, totally holding his composure. He looks at you, then looks down at the pile, and says,
"Oh... do forgive me, I forgot to add in the brass mug! Let's see... with that in addition to the original total, that would be one thousand five hundred dragons. Is that an acceptable price?"
Zyllith gave a polite smile, though her eyes narrowed at the shopkeeper before she gave her reply, "Aye, that'll be rioght acceptable. Would ye be kind enough ta' supply tha' coins in suns? I'm sure it'd be might more convenient fer us both."
"Although I would love the adamantine, that will have to wait until I save up a little more. For now, blackened steel would be perfect. I don't want anything that reflects light in the dark."
Belkas unstraps his armor and places it on the counter.
"I feel almost naked without it. Been a while since I walked around in just normal clothes. When can I come back to pick it up?"
“But of course! No need for you to attract attention on the streets with to much jingle jangle. There are far too many hands willing to dip into pockets out there, especially in the less savory arts of the city.”
He counts out 150 Whaterdhavian platinum “sun” coins, all very shiny, gives them to you and bids you good day, asking that you return next time you have more items to sell.
Belkas
“Come back at the end of the third day from today. I’ll have it done by then. And I’ll make em’ all black as night. Not a spark o’ lights gonna flicker offa’ this here suit when I’m finished.”
With the three adventures in tow, you find the Halls of Hilmer just north of the Market along the Street of Bells. This shop has an entire front of plate armor, bolted together, and polished a deep, gleaming blue, its bright shine visible up and down the street. Inside is a showroom and fitting room, with doors into a weapons practice room for clients to practice running, turning, fighting, and climbing stairs in armor, and the huge, cluttered workshops of Hilmer and his apprentices. Plate armor hangs — or, in the form of full suits, stands everywhere.
You’re greeted by one of the merchants, a stout human man with a thick beard and powerful arms. “Welcome folks! How can I assist you today?”
“I’m seeking a suit of half plate, to replace this scale mail. It seems I have come to the best place.. Do you have something that will fit me, and not too heavy?” Arisa says. She gives a friendly smile.
Aside from her battered scale mail, she has a light blue traveling cloak and brown boots, a shield emblazoned with a blue 8-point star is strapped to a leather backpack. She’s walking with a stout quarterstaff. A thin human girl in her early twenties, with brown hair, tanned skin and brown eyes, she doesn’t look strong enough to be marching around in armor.
as an afterthought, she says “I am Arisa, nice to meet you.. my fellow clerics of Mystra recommended your services..”
"Thank ye kindly."Zyllith gave a polite bow as she grabbed hold of platinum pieces. With their business done, Zyllith was happy to leave the shop quickly. Once outside she considered her options now that she had finished with her personal tasks.
She could return to the Blue Ewe, though there was still plenty of time still. She also recalled Zi Liang's request from back in Goldenfields. She still had the black pendant that Zi Liang had given them. If it was a simple enough matter, she could find this House Thann to provide the pendant on her own.
At the very least, it couldn't hurt to learn the whereabouts of this house. And so for the time being Zyllith would wander the streets of Waterdeep in search of the House Thann.
The merchant smiles in a knowing grin. "I am glad to meet you, Arisa, cleric of Mystra, and I can see that you have worn your current armor into the ground, as it were. We can offer you a very suitable upgrade, and if you wish, we can customize it to prominently display your devotion to your chosen deity, or add whatever type of design or engraving you wish, to give it a personal look and identity."
"We would start with the stock suit of half plate and then add whatever designs or engraving you wish. For example, we could put a bright blue eight pointed star, like the one on your shield, right on your breastplate, add an ornamental engraving, as simple or complex as you wish, or even give the entire suit a special tint to match the color of your emblem. The possibilities are entirely up to you, and of course, your budget."
"The suit without any decorations would be 750 dragons, and then we'd go from there. A small engraving would start at 20 dragons, a blue star on your left or right breast would be anywhere from 25 to 100 dragons extra... possibly more, depending on the size of the emblem and the complexity fo the design. And of course, either way, we would do a complete fitting to make sure it gices the absolute minimal amount of impediment in your movement, at no extra charge."
The three adventurers who came in with you are pretty much speechless at the amazing inventory and the overall look and design of the shop.

Zyllith
Leaving the gem shop and wandering around the streets of Waterdeep for the rest of the afternoon, you get a good feel for the city. The northern areas, which include the North Ward and the Sea Ward, are clearly the more affluent parts of town, where as the central part of the city, including the Castle Ward and the Trade Ward, is mostly dedicated to commerce and government. (The Blue Ewe is in the Trades Ward.) Things begin to get sketchier and more more poor the further south you go, with the Dock Ward being the most rough and tumble area. The South Ward is more lower class houses, merchants and businesses, and you see a lot of adventurers there, as well as business, taverns and inns that cater to them.
You were told that the Zi Liang's contacts are quite well to do, so it only makes sense that they would be located in the northern are of the city. After waking for a few hours, and asking for directions a couple of times, you learn that The Thann family owns a villa on Sashter Street in the North Ward, between Thunderstaff Way and Whaelgond Way.
“Your work is incredible, and you come highly rated. I’d love a personal touch to honor Mystra, perhaps the best you can do for 50 dragons worth? I will do my best to bring honor and renown to your craftsmanship- I have the necessary funds, perhaps also I can offer this scale as well- it is good steel, could be made into something else I suppose. .”
She shudders to think what Zyllith and Belkas would say at her lack of negotiation skills…’ how does one even start these conversations? Feigned disgust or something? Nothing I’d be able to pull off- especially not here- surrounded by amazing armor and craftsmanship.’ She thinks
Zyllith debates returning to the Blue Ewe now that she's found the Thann family villa. After a moment, however, she decides since she's already in the neighborhood, might as well save everyone else the trip. She quickly makes her way along Sashter Street towards the Thann residence. She decides to walk up to the villa with a respectfully cautious step at first. For such a rich family, this house will certainly have plenty of security of one form or another. With any luck there'll be some manner of guard or servant at the gate to talk to.
"Very well, I'm sure we can come up with something to your liking for that price. But first, let's begin with the fitting, we want to make sure that the armor moves with you and is an extension of your clothing, instead of a obtrusive solid cage of uncomfortable steel that is no less clunky than if I just strapped a collection of pots and pans to you. No, we want you to be able to move with at least some level of comfort. Of course, there will be some level of restriction, after all, its made of metal and not silk, but we do the best that we can. You should retain some level of your natural agility. And yes, we'll take that old suit off your hands. But come!"
With that, the man waves his hand and a pair of assistants bring over a brand new, very shiny suit of half plate, complete with torso, arm and leg coverings, all with padded cloth backings, so that there's no metal against her body. The help you put it on and then fasten it with a series of leather straps. Then, they have you walk around, climb a set of "practice" stars, climb over a small "practice" wall about 4 feet high, and then also try to run around the perimeter of the store, so that they can get a feel for how it fits.
Then, they do a series of adjustment, and have you repeat the process a few times until they are satisfied with the fit. Sure, it's quite heavy, weighing considerably more than her old armor by at least 3 times, if not more, but nonetheless is by far, the most comfortable, shiny, gleaming, impressive suit of armor you've ever worn in your entire life. It's truly a masterwork of design, function and protection, and, surprisingly, it hardly seems to impede your movement. Not that Arisa has anything like the astounding level agility she's seen in Zyllith, but this is not armor made for a swashbuckler. It is, however, completely ideal for a cleric who often finds herself a bit closer to the front lines of danger than is probably comfortable.
When the fitting is done, the merchant requests payment, and says that the design work will be ready by the end of the day, so about 4 more hours.

Zyllith
When you finally arrive at the front of the Thann residence on Sashter Street, in the North Ward, you find yourself in front of a plain white-and-grey mottled stone wall that surrounds the villa. You don't see any security or guards outside, but you do see a rope at the front gate that can be pulled to ring a bell.
Arisa is very impressed by the whole experience. “It is wonderful, thank you!” She pays the price with her collection of coins (some borrowed) . “I’ll be back later to pick it up!”.” Turning to her guests, she says- “I apologize that took so long- I’ve not done this before. We can head on our tour and back to the Blue Ewe now.”
Belkas considers for a moment and then says, "Would you also be able to make a tiny suit of studded leather armor? I can summon a helpful spirit that takes the form of an imp to strike fear into the heart of our foes, and I would like to give it some armor to keep it safe. It would need holes for his wings and tail."
The invisible Crowley sends his thoughts into Belkas' mind, 'I am very touched by the thought, but what all this about a helpful spirit?'
Belkas thinks back, 'I don't know how he feels about devils appearing in his shop, much less making armor for them. I figured we might get a better reaction saying this rather than introducing you as Crowley the Corrupter of Souls, sent to me by our Mistress Glasya, lord of Malbolge, daughter of Asmodeus, and the one and only the Princess of the Nine Hells.'
Belkas smiles his most confidence-inducing smile at the leatherworker.
Zyllith took her time looking around to make sure there were no hidden guards or anything that could serve as a warning to this place. But seeing nothing of interest, and since she was already here, she simply shrugged and pulled on the rope to ring the bell. She was curious to see who would respond.
