As Zyllith shouts up at the goblin(s?) up in the hayloft and dashes for cover, Vernon races towards the base of the ladder and gets about halfway up before Osmord casts his spell.
Goblin CON save: 19
The goblin he can see appears to withstand the effects of the cantrip.
This time the goblin is ready for Arisa’s flame attack, and even though he’s hindered by the Hex from Belkas, he manages to get out of the way and avoid being burned again.
Poking his head and bow out from behind his hiding place in the hayloft, he aims once again at the cleric.
Belkas takes a deep breath, tries to calm and focus his emotions, and then runs out and shoots another Eldritch Blast at the goblin and then darts back out of view.
His aim is more focused this time, but the goblin still manages to evade Belkas's blast. Vernon, who has reached the top of the ladder by now, sees that there is a single goblin hiding in the hay, and it appears to be injured, with burn marks covering part of its upper body. It's only a few feet away from Vernon, so if he wants to make an attack, he can do so.
Seeing Vernon approach with his mace, the goblin moves to draw his scimitar, showing absolutely no sign of surrender. (It is well known that goblins and gnomes have a long history of bitter hostilities.) Taking the obvious cue, Vernon slams his mace into the creature, bashing it in the side, cracking a few bones. The blow kills the goblin and sends it flying off of the loft, where its limp body flops to the dirt floor next to Arisa. Once again. Gwerk lets out a terrified squeal.
Arisa will say to Gwerk- “If you are quiet and listen, you have nothing to fear from us. He made his choice when he attacked us after we offered him the chance to surrender”.
she will help search the goblin, the loft and the barn, and check to ensure the horses are fed and watered and calmed down from any excitement or fear of the battle.
The goblin, who Gwerk identifies as Derp, carries a coin pouch that holds 1 cp, and a sack containing a wooden box engraved with the symbol of the Lionshield Coster trading post. Packed inside the box are ten silvered darts. You find nothing else of value up in the hayloft.
Fortunately none of the horses appear to be injured, and after the brief mayhem with Derp, you find it easy enough to calm them down. They show their appreciation when you replenish their food and water.
After taking care of the horses, Arisa says “ I suppose we should keep searching- are there any buildings we missed? Or should we go check on Kalla and see if we can figure out what she’s up to? “ One of the goblins’ arrows struck her armor in the shoulder, but didn’t penetrate. She pulls it out with a look of disgust and tosses it to the ground.
"Kalla was in the main square watching the closed drawbridge last Worm checked. Whether she is waiting for it to open to leave, or for something to come in, I cannot guess."
Belkas looks over in that direction to see if she is still there.
Belkas picks up the goblin arrow, looks it over and then snaps off the arrow head and places it in his pouch.
After the latest ordeal is over, Zyllith walks over to Gwerk for some reassurance, "Aye, sorry 'bout yer friend thar', mate. We tried whot convice tha' buggar ta' go 'bout this peacefully. But dun worry, luv. Ah'll continue ta' protect ye' as promised no matter whot."
Later on as they discussed what to do next, Zyllith confirmed her own concerns, "Aye, tha' Kalla lass worries me. Can't be sure of nothin' but with tha' situation, 'tis best ta' stay sharp and keep eyes on 'er."
Vernon pats one of the horses. "I can use darts, but I prefer to fight in close quarters." Poking his head out the door way, "I don't believe I met this Kalla?"
Arisa says “Kala is the woman I met upstairs in the Inn- she has a pet flying snake. She said she is a monk. But she seemed to be lying about something to me. Worm saw her in the square apparently waiting for something- and looking at the gate. I agree the horses are useful- perhaps we can use them when we leave town? How far away are the caves? “
To Gwerk- she says “where are the caves the villagers went to? Can you take us?”
As if right now, you’re searched all the houses, except for the ones the two guards went to inspect, and you can see that they’ve just finished searching the small farmhouse north of the barn and are making their way along the north wall to search the last two watchtowers.
The only place you haven’t been are the two small cemeteries, by the church, and along the north wall, but there are no buildings there, only a small crypt behind the church.
Osmord remembers seeing a wooden cart in the square.
Gwerk gives Arisa an uncomfortable look when she asks her about the caves. (Roll a Persuasion check, or intimidation, if you want to use that approach.)

Osmord sighs as he hears Vernons offer,
"We will soon have a fine collection of goblins. A pet goblin each?"

Arisa says “who can use these darts? Silver weapons are good against some creatures I know”. (We will pick the things up)

Before we leave the stables Osmord comments,
”Horses are useful... or perhaps a horse and cart? Perhaps we take them?”
