“It sounds like they are in many different rooms. Let’s start with this sneaky passage!” She scrambled to her feet, looking at the disorder she’s caused in her searching and tries to stack them more neatly making a pile too tall and toppling it. She looks around bashfully, “So of we go then?”
You head down the hidden stairs, coming upon two doors, one right in front of you at the end of the stairs and the other down a short hall. Which will you look into first?
The doors are wooden well made but not ostentatious. There are no symbols or identifying marks on either door, however Zyl notices an astringent chemical smell coming from the door to the south.
The air here smells of astringent chemicals. Long wooden tables stretch across the room, laden with vials, beakers, and flasks holding various liquids and powders. Books are stacked between the glassware and chemicals. Yellowed paper charts and blackboards full of complex formulas cover the walls. Judging by the numerous scorch marks and acid burns on the furniture, the laboratory was the scene of several spectacular failures.
Four clay figures rest on a table in the middle of the room. They range from a rudimentary, barely humanoid shape to a small, winged body so lifelike that it almost appears to be a real creature that is merely asleep.
A book like the one you found before, featuring an imposing mage on the cover and a letter on the spine, is propped up against a beaker. The gilded letter on this book is 'B'.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Look, another letter!" Nedni whispers urgently. "Those little statues make me nervous though? What do you all think?" Staring hard at the figure before she goes into the room, she watches to see if they move. perception3(I never know what skill to roll - if its supposed to be investigation +3) - ick those rolls.
The book is blank, and glows with the same magic as the other one. Probably the hint you're looking for.
Elric examines the clay statuettes; none of them come alive when he does, thankfully. He has a hunch that these are part of an alchemical ritual, given where they have been found, but the details escape him.

"So an B and an I so far..." Nedni murmurs aloud and wanders along the perimeter of the room checking casually for other potential sneaky doors. investigation16

Gan will walk up to one of the tables that has full glass vials and flasks, peer at them, and pick up the one that seems to have the most interesting type of liquid inside. Purely visual, not smelling or tasting or touching. He makes sure it's stoppered, and very subtly puts it in his pack.
Sleight of hand: 22
Super subtly. No one could see it, unless they had their eyes open or were in the room with him.

"Agreed" says Elric, unslinging his mace. "Just in case..."

Nedni listens carefully at the door in front of them. perception 1 (yikes)
Nedni tries listening at the door but can't hear anything through it.
Zyl looks to see if the doors have any identifying marks or symbols
Investigation 10
The doors are wooden well made but not ostentatious. There are no symbols or identifying marks on either door, however Zyl notices an astringent chemical smell coming from the door to the south.
Elric opens the door to the south "Let's see if we can find another clue book"
"Be careful! That one to the south has an odd smell, it might be a lab."
Nedni nods, agreeing on south door pinching her nose.

Elric casts guidance on himself before investigating the statues for any clues as to their function or origin: Investigation 2 plus 2 for Guidance.
"Another book? I wonder if this one is blank as well. Can I take a look?"
Zyl will Investigate the book comparing it to the one she grabbed from the other room to see if they glow with similar magic.
Investigation 6

Gan grabs a red fizzy potion ever-so-sneakily. Nedni meanwhile gives the room a look-over and doesn't find any secret doors.
Zyl flits over to Elric to examine the statuettes to see if they glow with the same magic as the books.
"That's quite the detail, master craftsmanship in fact. I wonder what he was planning to do with these."
Arcana: 15
(Damn with a nat 1 I will be wondering for a while.)
"Gan, Nedi, did you find anything interesting? Do any of these potions seem like something that could be used in a ritual to kill the blight? "
"Hmmm" says Elric, turning from the statues to the potions and powders, "maybe a connection here? A ritual of some sort?"
Elric casts guidance again and then tries to ascertain the purpose of the various chemicals: Arcana 13 plus 1 four Guidance.
(OOC: *for guidance. My spelling is as bad as my rolling on this one)
