Zuri: As you touch the portal, you feel a soft tingling in your body, nothing that you would consider too unpleasant. In a blink of an eye, you realize you are no longer in the library, but instead in a foyer or an entry hall of a building. The room is roughly 10x10 feet large, the ceiling arches to fifteen feet overhead, and long hallways stretch out on either side of the foyer. The floor is made of wood and the walls are made of stone blocks. There are oil lamps illuminating the room. You are almost sure, that the room is the same one you saw from the library.
Mydri, somehow, doesn't look too surprised by the appearance of the 'portal'. She observes it with interest and curiosity, but not more than she would a peculiar flower. (If Zuri disappears into the room from our perspective as well, keep reading. Otherwise, ignore.) When Zuri suddenly disappears, Mydri circles around the rectangle to the translucent side, looking through it but doesn't touch. Does she see Zuri through?
If so, she'll try to call for her. "Hey, if this thing is closing, you might not want to be inside it when it does."
If she cannot see Zuri through, she'll talk to Gethin: "Did the Hlalfing go down the ladder? I think I saw her trying to reach through this, but can't see her anymore."
Zuri takes a second to realize where she even is before looking around the room. Almost admiring it.
She then either hears Mydri or just gets scared of getting stuck in there and hurries back through the room.
"Ok, that felt weird. It seems fine on the other side but I definitely don't want to get stuck there." She says and sits down at the table. "If you want to look for the books we were supposed to bring back I have the list here."
Yes you can see her, but again it's like looking through water so you don't see any details, but a general person of her shape and size. She can't hear you and you can't hear her.
Mydri:
As the portal appears you suddenly feel a strange sensation in your mind. You are not sure where it is coming from. You would describe it as a strange form of curiosity mixed with a lust. The sensation isn't really too strong and you can dismiss it easily, but it surely surprises you.
Seeing the short figure looks safe on the other side, with a sudden impulsive act, she steps through and reaches the other side.
Once there, she looks around, trying to pinpoint what it was that got her attention. If nothing seems like it, she'll start to walk slowly towards the left hallway.
"No, I don't think so, it happend so fast, I blinked I was standing in this hall with a very heigh ceiling." Zuri replies to Gethin. "I was just curious." She says and watches Mydri go through as well.
She will look at the door to see how faded it looks and if there was any change once Mydri entered.
Zuri looks a bit panicked, looking at the fading door. She´s deciding whether or not to go after Mydri.
"Well, we can´t just leave Mydri inside! Can we somehow stop it from fading? How did it even appear? I don´t think we touched or did anything that would make a door pop intoexistence."
"If someone runs over and jumps in the river do you jump in after them, or do you assume they know how to swim as they chose to jump in?
Gethin muses
"Whatever that thing is I have no idea what's happening and if that were a river its not one I know how to swim in. If we need to keep watch here then I will do that, I'll not rush back to town and leave her fate unknown"
He pulls a piece of old metal from his pouch and with quick practiced movements he snips it and shapes the thin scrap into a disk. Holding it in his metal snips he speaks clearly as if into it:
”Mydri, we will wait for you”
Then before the door can vanish he throws it through
The left part of the hallway is approcimatly 40 feet long, there are several doors on the wall opposite the entrance, with closest door being less than 5 feet away from where you are standing.
As you start to move towards the hallway you can hear a loud steps, and someone cursing and panting loudly. The noise is coming from the right part of the hallway. If you look there you see an old dragonborn carrying a small stone statue. The dragonborn's scale seem mostly faded, with an exception of a few golden scales above his eyes. He is clad in a emerald green velvet robe, and is wearing a black leather belt with several pouches and large scroll tied to it. When He sees you he stops for a second to catch his breath and shouts
I hope you know how to open the portal back to my tower! I don't won't to get stuck here again!
Meanwhile in the library: As you talk, the portal continues to fade and it seems it will be gone in less than a minute
"What were we doing when it appeared. I mean I was talking and stuff, was anyone else doing anything? Seems like blind luck it arrived just after we did and I don't believe in blind luck"
Zuri keeps her eyes on the door, looking through in hopes of seeing Mydri coming back.
"I was just sitting at the table showing you the book and listening to you explain the stuff in it." She says and then thinks for a moment."Could it be something in the book you either read or touched? There were some runes written there right?"
Gethin goes back to the books and tries to think what he did
"Right, right. So I read this bit, you know stuff about dimensions and I said it was above my pay grade. Then I pointed out this not about the sceptre note and not knowing what that's about. What else did I say?"

Watches Zuri disappear and reappear
"Did it feel like a trap, like it lured you in?"

Frank will ask the mechanical thingie, "Do you know which books are borrowed? We were asked to take some back to town."
Gethin looks agitated, in two minds
"We still don't know if that's an invitation or a trap, is it safe to venture in at all? That looks like it will vanish any moment now"
Zuri looks a bit panicked, looking at the fading door. She´s deciding whether or not to go after Mydri.

Frank says, "You talk sense. Lets try to gather some books that look like they don't belong here. Which might be difficult."
"You might have a point." She says and calms down a bit. Zuri lookes through her bag and pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to Frank.
"Here's the list of books we needed to bring back. I will keep om eye on Mydri through the door if you want to go look for them."
Frank takes the list and just starts methodically going through everything.
Gethin looks at the door fading
”Damn it!”
He pulls a piece of old metal from his pouch and with quick practiced movements he snips it and shapes the thin scrap into a disk. Holding it in his metal snips he speaks clearly as if into it:

Then before the door can vanish he throws it through
