Candlekeep Mysteries Group 2

"What was that......" Mav says as he starts to head to the room we entered the mansion from. 

My friends, that is the sound of a correct password! Well done. Now, where was that doorway? Or do you think we should check in with the homonculi?

Seeing Mav start out of the room, Isa recomposes herself after her recent blunder with the table, and follows after him.

"Well if that is the portal that would be most fortunate. We haven't been here that long and if we know the word to het us back we might be able to spend a moment searching for an answer to Altus' curse. Especially since Matreous is gone." Offers Emporious.

‘Dammit all!’ swears Orvok ‘We were to dispatch whatever killed Matreous first. You could have unleashed it on the library...’ he sets off sprinting to the foyer where they originally arrived, on the assumption the entrance and exit are probably in the same space...

Barbärs hear sinks before the congratulations are finished leaving his lips.

Hes right. Damnit!

and he follows after Orvok

Emporious sends Archie ahead while he falls into line. " Not like I knew that would happen." he grumbles.

As the group runs back to the entrance portal, assuming that's where the exit portal now resides, Hino calls out to the team "Hey, don't forget we've got some invisible beast still running around this place....the one that killed Matreous!  Be on your guard!"

As they make their way back to the entrance, Hino will pay special close attention to their surroundings, looking for the invisible killer (Perception: 22).

One large portal, and no killer, chum. It's possible it escaped through the portal, or, it's still in the mansion.

Agh! Well. The portal is open, so your guess is as good as any. What do we do here, everyone? Do we split up and check the outside, and the others check here again? Im at a loss here... Wait! Barbär exclaims as an idea enters his mind and acts on it, cupping his hands round his mouth he shouts out to the air in an urgent voice, Cumin! Coriander! Can you please come here?!

"Yes, your deliciousness?" Coriander says as they both waddle up.

Still grumpy, Emporious mumbles "How do we know it's invisible? Could have been inside him the whole time. Could be inside him right now." Then louder he says "Well since there's nothing here I'm going to go look in those other rooms. I need to make sure I don't leave with out first making sure the solution to Altus isn't here."

Which room?

Thank you, friends he says to the C&C fellows, this one here is the one we spoke of earlier, the Late Matreous. This is the wound we expct ended him. We were too late to save him, but does this wound seem like anything you know of that would do this? Or could this be something the Faerie dragons have done? Do they joke people about in this kind of way? We went to most if not all the rooms, and met up with swirling book tornado-like golems as well as seeing some open specimen containers. What is loose here?

Barbär is clearly in a panic but leaning towards general anger

They study the wound for a moment, watching your general demeanor. They then look to each other, look at the wound again, and then Cumin says,

"You know what you need, your Carbonation? A sandwich. Follow me."

They both wave you back into the kitchen.

Isa stops as she listens to Emporious "He's right, we need to check the other room before leaving - there might be something here that could help his hometown.... which is in fact why we are all even in here.". She turns to Emporious "I will help you in searching the rest of the rooms here.  Now that we know how to open the portal, I believe we can do it again."

"Excellent! Anybody else?" 

Emporious waits for responses.

‘We will, of course, look for something to help your town. I’ll just wait here until the portal closes though...’

Perception: 4

Through the portal, like a doorway, you can see a maid cleaning the room on the other side - Matreous rented Candlekeep room. She stops what she's doing, looks at you uncertainly, slowly smiles, and sheepishly waves before going back to room service duty.

‘Get out of the room and barricade the door until we say it’s safe!’ shouts Orvok through the portal, hoping his voice carries...
