id surely say id be of better help after a rest he chuckles i know im pretty banged up, but i feel we did well. Orvok, it may be best we dont drag the body around town for everyone to see. If youd like, ill find someone to come to you and Matreous. After all, this kind of thing is our forte
Orvok gives Barbär a look. 'I'll deliver him to the priests, it's just round the corner. Besides, it's harder for them to quibble bringing him back if plenty of people see me deliver the body.' he grins 'Plus I think these priests are too used to books and suchlike. Seeing the result of a deadly battle walk through their front door might help shake them from their complacency a little...'
Barbär nods back scratching his braided bearded chin
Aye. Wouldn't want anyone else having credit for this. Been there, done that. Well then. I'll follow your lead mate. Afterward, want to meet at the tavern everyone? I dont typically have a drink, but this day calls for a stiff beverage.
"Once Isa and I have informed the Avowed I would be willing to meet you there. The excitment of the day has also left me in a bit of a need for sustenance. Let us be on our way Isa." he urges.
Hino cares little for the priests of the town, for they rarely (if ever) are willing to become a client. So, when everyone disperses, she decides to go back to her little hovel and shut down for a few hours. When waking, she'll practice swinging her cartoonishly large blade for a hour, practicing some newfound maneuvers she thought up when battling the book monster. She finds the practice rather calming, helping to center herself into a zen-like mood.
With her sentry's rest complete, she'll clean her adventuring gear, pack it back up in her travel pack, and make her way to the pub. She'll plan on putting down half a dozen steins before the rest of the crew joins up....wanting to impress the dwarves (who she understands to be drinkers of high tolerance).
Stepping up to the entrance to Oghma’s temple, Orvok looks askance at the door, his hands full with Matreous. Finally, with a sigh, he resorts to racial stereotype and headbutts the doors, the metal of his helm causing the door to ring out loudly. ‘Open up! I have a guest of the library in need of aid!’
A huge scene is being made in the central courtyard of Candlekeep the next day. A group of Avowed, outside, are making a huge stink about a particular book. They seem to be arguing, but not in a angry way, but one of concern. It's hard to ignore, and they also appear to be looking around for help.
"You! You there! You're the investigators from a few days ago! Can you help us?"one of them comes up to you, imploring.
Isa had come from her room and gone down to the courtyard where she saw Mav... he still creeped her out a bit with his sharp toothed grin but she was able to put that aside as he was now a familiar face that she had fought alongside. "Hey Mav, how are you? What do they want?" she asks.

Well. He sure does hold attention of the people doesn't he? I wonder if it because he's Teifling? Barbär says to the group off-handedly, and looks around to see if there are many Teifling or not.

As he scans he also checks out the robes of the said avowed, do they denote any higher social standings, and is the book in hand?
"Ah! My friends! Perfect timing. This book: A Deep and Creeping Darkness, came to Candlekeep with another group of adventurers, given to them by a villager who found it among her grandfather’s old possessions. Her grandfather—a traveling bard in his youth—claimed to have written it. Though appearing to be nothing more than a combination of diary and penny dreadful, the book satisfied the requirements of a unique work to grant that party entrance to Candlekeep. It chronicles the death of a mountain village called Vermeillon by slow, unknown means. According to the text, following a terrible accident in the platinum mine, survivors and other villagers began disappearing. Eventually Vermeillon’s population all vanished or fled, leaving the village abandoned."
"It's all in the book! This is a fascinating discovery! We'd like to hire you to look into what happened at Vermeillon!"
They seem like legit, concerned Avowed, but you can't really tell their "rank".
Accepting the warm hug from Barbär, which brings her to oily tears (OOC: Do warforged cry? I'd imagine drops of oil streaming down their face if they do!).
"Awwwww, shucks Master Barbär! You know how to flatter a lady!"
She follows up the embrace with a warm kiss to his forehead.
"I do this (she sashays and points to her curvaceous body) for the money, dear. And it pays well, indeed!"
Hino's passive perception is 14, so she easily recognizes the fact that Barbär slips her some coin.
Patting her bag, she suggestively winks at Barbär and coos to him "Meowwwww! Thanks for the investment....it'll pay dividends when you least expect it!"
Finally, turning to the Avowed addressing them, Hino perks up and responds "Hire us? Well, why not! Only....how much does this job pay?"
Frowning to the weirdo, Hino responds "Oh yeah? Well, why don't you enLIGHTEN your purse with a few coins to pay for my TOP NOTCH investigative services?"
Having been brooding in the back over still not having a cure for Altus, Emporious perks up a bit as the synopses of the book is laid forth. Speaking up he says, "I will look. Perhaps I may find paralleling information that will yet help me save Altus from a slow death of its own."

“And here I thought they were fighting over who gets to bed me first!” Hino helpfully adds.
lnstead of focusing of the group arguing, Hino will keep an eye on the gathering crowd, especially if there are any constables on their way.

Dear, is it money you're after? You have proved your worth more than you are aware... Is the physical contact what you are wanting?
He gives her a hug and looks her in the eye
