The Fey demand a payment of 50 gold to free the thief and Cedrik agrees. The matter dealt with the pixies move on quickly to the subject of the goblins. They advise to cross the river sooner rather than later and to follow the old imperial road to the north. They say the goblins come from that direction. They also speak of a tower in the wastelands that may bare investigation.
The party spend the night speaking with the pixies before camping out beneath the stars. In the morning they break their fast before being led down to the river side by the pixies. Here they are gifted a boat with which to cross. Amanda stays behind and wishes them well.
Reaching the other side they continue to head north on what appears to be an ancient road of wide black flagstones. The Imperial Road is an ancient roadway that stretched from the heart of the Horned One’s empire in the Dread Mire all the way to the sea. This roadway was paved with large blocks of granite carved by giants and placed in the earth by some of the greatest engineers of the age. Yet, as with most things, time and nature slowly destroyed it. The Imperial Road was poorly maintained even during the height of the empire, and since its collapsed, it has essentially eroded away or been buried by the shifting banks of the Drunderry River. The Imperial Road is difficult to follow, though an observant character will note its appearance on occasion along the east side of the Drunderry River. When the roadway lifts up into the Fallow Hills, it is a little easier to follow, as the processes of erosion have not affected it as much here.
The evening is drawing on when the party spot a camp fire in the distance. The group make their way toward it. Here they meet a nymph named Ewi’ ah’ hnana. She is carrying out the ritual cleansing of her river. She is friendly to the party on account if Cedrik and the old Cleric. She advises them to leave the road in the morning and head east as this is the direction the foul goblins travel from.
The party camp there for the night, lulled into sleep by her beautiful music.
