You all find yourselves walking the streets of Varese. None of you know each other, but most of you know of each other. The presence of two Fae and a demi-Fae is astounding, as most Fae tend to stick their own settlements. The most inconspicuous of the lot appears to be a human, (cogema whatever form you desire) but seems to not know Varese as well as the natives.
All of you see people gathering in the square, and decide to investigate. Lining the square are a few shops, most of which are obscured by a gathering crowd of people. A podium seems to be set up in the center of the square, which is what people are gathering around. In fact, you four seem to find yourselves pushed together, absorbed by the crowd. On top of the podium stands a man wearing fine clothes. He appears to be middle-aged, portly of stature, and partially bald.
After a minute, the man raises his hand. "Silence!" he calls, voice booming through the square. "Hear me." The crowd quiets down, giving this stranger their full attention. The man continues. "By order of His Majesty, any able-bodied fighters are to report to the castle should they wish for coin, prestige, and the like. Should you choose to come, more details will be given at the castle, but for now, know this. Groups must have four or more people, and each member will need to fill out a permit, which can be found at the castle. Recruitment will be open for three days, no more and no less."
With this, the man leaves, and the crowd begins to disperse. You find yourselves in a nearly empty town square, only a few other people. You notice each other, as most of you are Fae and demi-Fae and the last member is carrying a rapier, something that, while legal, isn't very common in Varese. (I don't have all of your character sheets yet, so can't provide details, sorry.)
(Yes human male.) Average height and build. While handsome he does not stand out to much. He carries a rapier at his side and a short bow on his back. He turns to the one who spoke. “Only one way to find out I suppose. Either way a chance to see inside the castle and maybe meet the king is quite intriguing.”
“Fair enough,” I say, shrugging, “Ever since I left my old town, I’ve been looking for adventure.” I quickly rush along, trying to get to the front of the crowd of people.
I wait for the crowd to clear out a bit and walk towards the castle, every step filled with excitement and anxiety. I decide to wait by the castle, to wait for other people. After all, if I’m going to travel, I want to do it with a group!

After a few minutes of walking, you arrive. When you arrive at the castle, you see a small clearing where groups of people with all manner of weapons are gathering.
(OOC only HongryGoblinBoi is at the castle currently. Also, HongryGoblinBoi, could you name your character on your sheet?)
Approaching the castle I see the person I spoke to before. Walking up I extend a hand in greeting “My name is Iarakir. Perhaps we could work together?”
After the announcement at the square, Sean decides to head straight towards the castle. By the time he arrives at the castle he finds a human and a fae greeting each other and decides to approach them.
From where you are, anybody at the castle sees the same pompous looking man enter the clearing, passing out some sort of form to the fighters lining it. From what you gather, those who sign the form are allowed entrance into the castle, so long as they are in groups of four or more. Otherwise, they are barred access. "Sign up here!" the man calls. "But quit wasting my time with groups of three, two, or one. I've already told you you won't be allowed access any further!"
"Hello there!" Sean says while shaking Annabeth's hand, "I'm Sean Wil... Just Sean. A pleasure to meet you." Turning his attention towards Iarakir he continues: "Fancy sword you're carrying there mister... Sorry I didn't get your name"
“Iarakir. Well met just Sean.” Resting his hand on the hilt of his sword. “It suits me. Your blade would be much to heavy for me. It looks like we need one more.” I turn to look around the space for any lone persons.
"A pleasure Beth" then he turns towards Aspen and says: "truth be told Aspen, I just arrived to this lands so I'm not well versed in this nation's situation to even venture a guess."

"I believe it might be related to the situation in Erilea. I'm from the other side of Wendlyn, though, so I don't here much about it. We can't help Terrasen."
(Let me know when you guys are ready to go over to the clearing. Just letting you guys decide what you are going to do, that's why I haven't responded yet.)

I walk along my group, wondering why the king is calling out for help. “Did something happen?” I ask my group members.

"I wonder why the humans need help. I'll find out."
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)

"I'm Aspen," The fae says. "Do you know what they want?"

“Best way to find out is to sign up. We have four now, shall we.”

(Yup I’ll start walking that way.)
