Nalla will reach into her pack and light a torch, moving closer to the cave before throwing it inside to give off light. As she does this she will move back from the entrance incase something tries to attack.
The torch lands, and gives a little light on the tunnel that leads from the exterior into the cave; it appears there's a chamber not far into the cave, though it's hard to make out any details. Make a Perception check if you wish, and let me know how far from the cave mouth you are standing.
The tunnel from the cave mouth is short, and within fifteen feet it opens into the cave, or at least the first cave. The cave roof is quite low, only about ten feet from the ground, and with stalactites it will be a nuisance for anyone over eight feet tall. Light enters this cave from the outside, and the torch also provides some illumination; you can see that the cave is actually a pool of water. You can't tell from where you are how deep it is, but Telias, you do hear the slow dripping of water from stalactites into the pool, and low croaking sounds coming from... somewhere.
You are all off the map to the north, with Telias just one square from the map area. Telias can see there appear to be two passages leading south from this pool cave, though your darkvision doesn't allow you to see further.
Nalla, your Mage Hand moves the torch into the cave, floating above the water. There doesn't appear to be any reaction that you can discern, and it doesn't allow you to see further than you did.
Sunshine's eye twitches as she stares into the cave with the rest of them, peering up over Telias' shoulder. Dark caves, rarely a good idea in her book. But this group seems curious enough to press on, so she double checks her weapons stashed away and gives them a little wave. "Well, into the water," she says quietly. "I can lead, if no one else wants to."
As Sunshine passes him Telias taps him on the shoulder, a small amount of magic flowing between the two. "A little extra help, from the Arch Heart. Just in case." Guidance

Sunshine, you enter the tunnel and then the pool cave. Having now progressed further into the cave and with the light from the torch, you are aware of two things. First, there is a long wooden ladder, folded on hinges to fit the space, tucked behind the entrance to the cave. The ladder is sturdy and long enough, when folder out to its full length, to reach across the pool towards the exits on the southern side.
The other thing you notice, as you dip a foot into the pool, you feel that the water is icy cold - it would be uncomfortable, perhaps dangerous, to be fully submerged in this water. The water is shallow at its very edges of course, but you can see that it gets deeper towards the centre of the pool, perhaps ten feet or more.
"Oh, thanks the gods," Sunshine mutters as she sees the ladder. While she actually likes swimming, it's far too freaking cold to be doing that today. So she steps back and grabs the ladder. Grunting, she goes to unfold it and stretch it across the pool. "Someone help me with this."
Sunshine, with Telias's help, manage to extend the ladder so that it crosses the pool of water. You get the feeling that the ladder is not strong enough to bear all of you at the same time - perhaps two, maximum three. Let me know who's crossing first, and in what order...
Sunshine will sigh and take the lead on this one. She'll head across the ladder alone to test its weight, staying low in a crouch so she doesn't have to balance at full height.
Sunshine and Telias head out across the ladder/bridge, in that order. The rest of the party remains behind, steadying the ladder as best they can. You get about half the way across.
Croak!!!
Everyone roll initiative please.

Telias moves right up to the mouth of the cave and peers inside.

Telias looks back. "Two different paths and a lot of croaking. Might be frogs in the water ahead."

Mr. Fists nods, saying nothing as he doesn't want to bring any frogs out of the water.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Nalla will move a bit closer towards the cave, summoning up her Mage Hand to grab the torch and move it further into the cave.

"Better you than me..." A note a nervousness can be detected in Verdan's voice as he pulls out a shortbow while the group trods through the cave.

Who's helping?
Telias will help.

Nalla will move go to over in the middle of the group, not wanting to be the first or last one to go across.
Sunshine will sigh and take the lead on this one. She'll head across the ladder alone to test its weight, staying low in a crouch so she doesn't have to balance at full height.
Telias follows as the second.
